Hey guys, new to the forum here but not new to the sport.
With some extra time on my hands recently and my twins now almost 5 I decided to pick up a Daisy Red Ryder and a Buck 105. Big shout out to @cobalt327 for all his help and knowledge on these!
I bought his spring and 7/64" air tube kit...
The problem I have is that I load our 300 RUM hunting loads for myself and two buddies. I can't trust them to keep them separated haha. I just get a bag of brass from them at the end of the season.
And yes the Dykem does come off in the tumbler so I have to tumble in lots based on the firings...
Curious if anyone has any tricks to doing this. I have been color coding my firings by using the Dykem paint pens in various colors.
No color= Unfired
White= Fired once
Blue= Twice
Yellow= Third
Red= Fourth
Only downside is you get a little bit of paint specs on your bolt face that rub...
The critical differences I see are:
Looking for the smallest ES possible while minimizing group size
Playing with COAL to maximize case capacity while maintaining safe pressures and group size
I have done both. For example, my plinking load for a 5.56 is much less refined than my LR hunting...
