    642 Club Part Deux

I heard that Nugent's favorite guitar is in reality a BAR with strings on it.:D And his favorite pick is what's left of his grandfather's Barlow.

    642 Club Part Deux

AZAndy I know for a fact that Gunscrubber will cause the clear coat on a 642 to begin to flake off. Don't ask me how I know, I just know.:banghead:

    Ruger 22/45 Mark III

Personally, I think you have purchased one of the most accurate, quality firearms for practicing markmanship and trigger control for handguns. Use it with iron sights to acquire muscle memory for sight picture and control with its most affordable round and you can't go wrong. I used it to...

    The 336 Club

This may not sound too remarkable for many of you, but for me it was thrilling. We took the 336 to a 100 yd range on Sat. The bench we were shooting from was very shaky and I was having trouble hitting the 4 inch orange bull from 100 yards with open sights. Everything I shot was about 6...

    Update on Ruger LCP -

I'll have to agree about the P11. Mine is over 2 years old and has over 1000 rounds through it, mostly lead of my own making and has never burped at all. I am sorry to say that it also has only been cleaned up once and still throws everything I put in it downrange. I'll cover it not being...

Trouble with a peep sight on a Marlin 336

I always use the FORS method of sight adjustment to keep this straight. "FO" = front opposite "RS" = rear the same. I always think sight movement backwards until I remember FORS.:)

Ruger LCP: hand-loads OK with polygonal rifling?

I use 90g lrn that I reload in my P3AT with no problem. It's probably had about 2000 run through in about 3 years.

    M&p 340

jfh The older gentleman that got me into reloading and showed me how to get started didn't own a chronograph. He stressed that I should always go by the book (Speer was his choice). He said to NEVER load above what the book says and to be cautious loading lower than the book states. He said...

    M&p 340

jfh Sorry, but I don't have a chronograph. I have to do most of my shooting at an indoor range and I don't think they would allow me to set one up if I had one. I have to use a manual for published speeds. That's the best I can do and just try to be in the ballpark with them. How much...

    M&p 340

Ghostrider My carry round is the Remington 158gr LSWCHP +P. This is the historical FBI load. I haven't quite worked up to carrying .357mag loads yet, but I'm working up to it after about 6 months of carrying this instead of a 642 with the same load.

    M&p 340

Ghostrider You surely can shoot LSWC in an M&P 340. The only problem I have found with shooting only lead is that I have to clean the weapon more often, about every 150-200 rounds. The cylinder begins binding from debris under the cylinder at about 150 rounds. I reload and most of my reloads...

1kperday Hollowpoints can become clogged and not expand when impacting heavy clothing. I didn't do that post, but that's the reason he probably carries fmj in the winter.

    M&p 340

I hear ya Marv! Now you're talking. I've seen peoples' faces change when you breathe those three little numbers in order.:what: You don't have to explain +p at all...let them think what they want.

    Ruger LCP 380 auto

I have a P11 and a P3AT and they both work just fine, but I will have this Ruger LCP. I will because I am afflicted with an addiction. I'm sick and I need help, but refuse it. I want one of everything I see that goes boom! Sound familiar to some of you other guys? :)You know, I could...

    M&p 340

Frankly Todd My favorite way to dryfire is watching TV and aiming at peoples' heads for quick aimed shots. It has taken me a long time and a lot of dryfires to get to this point. I began by aiming at a light switch or something fairly small across the room and squeezing the trigger and...

    642 Club Part Deux

Marvin The M&P rides in my right front pocket daily in a Robert Mika round cut holster. I used to carry the 642 in a DeSantis Nemesis. My wife carries the 642 in the Nemesis in her purse. The Mika is the best pocket holster I know about, especially for the price of around $20.

    642 Club Part Deux

Marvin I too, like DA, have both the 642 and the M&P 340. I liked the 642 and my wife has taken it for her CCW. I love the M&P 340, and the ounce and a half of saved weight in your pocket does make a difference. That's probably the biggest advantage the M&P provides for me. The other big...
