Just remember when using a flashlight on a gun, as soon as you turn it on, the bad guy know exactly where you are. Don't turn it on until you know exactly where HE is.

The only downside to shotguns is that it takes two hands to use. When something goes bump in the night they can be a unwieldy. I like to have a free hand when creeping around in the dark. A big bore revolver is hard to beat. But a shotgun in capable hands is the ultimate.
