Any opinions on the .30 Super Carry cartridge

The local gun shop/S&W sold me a "EZ" model for $302.00 out the door. Given that my father has arthritis problems and has trouble with some of my 1911s, I thought this would be a good deal. The 30 Super Carry is indeed a step in between the recoil of a .380 and a 9mm. And I was drop-jaw...

Any opinions on the .30 Super Carry cartridge

It is strange when you go to the range with any instrument that fires .30 Super Carry how the brass just seems to vanish into thin air. I went to the range and shot 50 rounds. I swept up the brass around me and have 21. Do they magically turn into .40 smith and wesson's once's the've been...

Amen. "700X forever" for all my 5" 1911's.

    700X in 45ACP - handloads for the 1911

Sorry I haven't been around to respond more positively. That's a d*mn fine group Vaalpens. Just goes to show you what the good ol Flamin Cornflakes is still capable of. This might not night be the right place to post it, but for those considering purchasing a GFORCE/Balistik Defense 1911...

Do you actually use your “everything rifle”?

*Very* well said. If you have to pull the trigger, no matter the caliber or the instrument, no matter what you or any one else prefers, just get it done clean with one shot.

Do you actually use your “everything rifle”?

Hog Hunting is a different thread. ANY rifle, caliber etc.is good to go. Wild hog? Just kill 'em. If you can do it with .17hrm go for it. Apologies. Again, that's for a different thread.

Do you actually use your “everything rifle”?

Too true. A .22 Glenfield and a .308 hand me down Winchester. I'll struggle by I hope.

    Springfield Armory vs ?

It's a shame its for the name only considering what the operation of the instrument is. I get it. I really do. And it pains me that I can't get more behind it. They discontinued the Range Officer model right before the release of the "Emissary" and it was such a disappointment. Not only to...

    Springfield Armory vs ?

In comparable firearms from other manufacturers. Just for debate's sake, SA's reboot of the Browning High Power. Compared to...well...ANY manufacturer that's made it for the past...say the past 30 years.

Do you actually use your “everything rifle”?

We must be in a different part of the mid-west/northern America. There was access to a 30-06, a 30-30 Winchester, a .270 Remington...maybe at one point a .264 Winchester (Couldn't get ammo for it) and then .308.

    Favorite 45 ACP loads

And BTW...Where' Frogo to let the secret loose about 700x? Best gawtdamm powder still available at a reasonable price and somewhat available in this day and age for .45 , 38spl, and light 45 colt loads.

    Favorite 45 ACP loads

My Apologies. I'm somewhat late to the responses...the initial post with those pictures required a few minutes of alone time. GAWDZ...nicely done. Beautiful. Every 1911, even though built on a time honored design, responds best to tailored ammunition. You can start off with the safe and...

Do you actually use your “everything rifle”?

The discussion in Midwestern/North America between 30-06, .308, .270 has been going on since before I've been born (and I was born right when the 30-06 vs .308 discussion started). Question: What do you have economical access to that puts meat on your family's table? Get it done with one...

    Springfield Armory vs ?

I want to start a new(?) thread due to the email I (and probably many others) get from Springfield Armory as to why their "reboots" of time tested designs are so far over priced compared to their alternative manufacturers. I have no disrespect for SA. I proudly own (and shoot) one of their...

45 acp 200gr swc blue bullets powder

I've had excellent luck out of all my 1911s with almost minimum loads of Titegroup. Back in the day when powder was available, my dad had a load of Alliant's Bullseye that lived up to it's name-sake. I recently had a really good day at the range breaking in a new Tisas Government Issue 1911...

    700X in 45ACP - handloads for the 1911

I didn't notice anything being Dirty or Sooty. Spent shells looked normal. There might have been one or two white flakes down towards then end of the bushing. Otherwise, out of the three guns I had to clean after Tuesday's range day I would say the ol GI 45 was the easiest and quickest to...

    700X in 45ACP - handloads for the 1911

I still miss that old Winchester AA452 powder. I never thought that oddball steel canister of "shotgun" powder would ever get empty. 700x is about the only powder around my parts that is rarely/readily available and under $30 for a 14oz plastic bottle. It sure works great in 38spl and .41...

Can I use a 230 gr lead bullet for 45 LC and 45 ACP??

Not sure if this will help, but it might depend on the instrument being fired. Some of the Smith and Wesson Model 25s had some issues with .451 and .452 bullets being less than "one hole" accurate. I have a Model 25-5 and using 225 grain cast lead flat point bullets (.451 diameter) will work...

Just because you see it on the internet doesn't make it a good idea.

Sorry, I'm a simple pistol reloader that likes to pop holes in paper at an indoor range. I've had continual luck loading UNDER the suggested minimum in 38spc, 45acp, and various 45 Colt loads. Why someone would like to gamble with a multi-hundred dollar gun much less their hands, their eyes...
