JM Marlin 336. Am I Out of Touch?

IMHO there is a reason they are commanding the prices they are. There are also reasons why you can find the others. My only Marlin lever is a 1980's 357 and like others I got it for a good deal. You just don't find rifles you would want to own much under a grand anymore. But yea keep looking...

    A good electronic powder dispenser/scale.

I have had the charge master for years and never had an issue with it. I do double check it against another scale, something I always did and have never found it to be in error. I would buy one again.

Colt 1903 Pocket price check ($500)

At that price I don't think you are doing too badly.

Colt 1903 Pocket price check ($500)

Several things can have a bearing on price. Parkerized or not is another. You really need to lay eyes on it, but I agree at $500 I think it is going to show some "wear".

Firearm record at FFL on transfer

@dogtown tom answered the question. There is no guidelines on how that digital 4473 is stored. I can half see that, but working in the .gov I can also see requirements for off site backups, or "cloud" storage. What I was worried about was the "cloud" storage. I like the idea of the records...

    Hard use lever rifles

Several years ago when I bought my lever, an 1980's Marlin, I had a chance to look at a winchester and marlin side by side. Both guns are 38/357, so a perfect time to see both of them side by side. The Winchester was glass smooth, felt like a great rifle. The Marlin was a bit "rougher", more...

Firearm record at FFL on transfer

It sounds like you currently work at an FFL. In the old days you are right. I have a question about how it works today with the digital 4473. I don't like that ONE SINGLE BIT. Can you clue us in on how and where those are stored, "cloud", local servers, off line storage.

How to turn your AR into a Gatling gun

The 1934 deal, while I don't agree with it, and find the premise of the law out right stupid it is just a tax, and that is something the .gov can do. 1934 did not limit a darn thing, you just had to pay your tax and you could get it. Now granted $200 in 1934 was a great deal of money, but let...

How to turn your AR into a Gatling gun

Personally having my fill of them in a past life, I have no desire. I had no desire pre 1986 when they could be had much cheaper. Like one poster said suppressing fire is a thing, but not a thing that the normal Joe would use every day. The giggle factor gets old rather quickly, and even mid...

How to turn your AR into a Gatling gun

It just seems silly to me. I really think if the 1986 deal had not been done none of this stupid stuff would have seen the light of day.

Read up on the difference between Antique, Curio and Relic, and Modern Firearms. After you read up and understand that you will see how many holes are in your statements.

    “Cheaper safes”

It would, however I have quite a few old 22's that don't have them. I have seen enough human error entering SN's to last a life time. And they are a pain in the butt to fix.

    “Cheaper safes”

What I would do is just get the "cheap" cabinet, then get yourself a wyze camera or two to "keep an eye" on it. Get in the habit of checking it often, and when ever maint. needs access to your apt. Hard to argue with video of the plumber coming out with a rifle. Also take the time to do...

    Muzzleloader for Home Defense

Means we have at least two where BP was used in defense. Sounds like those two examples should put that argument to bed.

    Muzzleloader for Home Defense

Don't forget about bragging about it in his own book. And yet nothing happens to him.....but that is different from out discussion. I remember reading about a BP shooting and it was something along those lines, a home was broke into and the guy shot him with a BP revolver, I wonder if it is...

    Dad's old knife

Personally I would put an edge on it, do what ever you need to do to keep it clean, together, intact.....not sure on the word I am hunting for....degrading. In short I would not go off to make it look brand spanking new. I know you did not say anything to this effect, just saying how I view...

    Seriously Brownell’s?

I don't trust much on the jungle site to be "real". I know there is a lot of fakes out there, and a good bit of "gray market" items as well. If I want the real thing then I will go someplace I can trust, amazon is not that.

Mark_Mark's 3D Printer, for Reloading Stuff, is On the Way

My first one several years ago was a Prusa, the real deal. Now I am using a Chiron, I needed that extra volume. I don't remember what filament I am using now that I am happy with. I do have a few rolls of "junk" at home, if I remember I will look at the makes and let you know.
