    My Home Was Burglarized

It was only one person that called the OP irresponsible. On the 'net, anybody with a modem can say anything at all, which is both good and bad.

    Knife instead of gun

As my karate instructor in high school told me, "If you're ever in a street fight, forget the karate and find a weapon, any weapon."

    My Home Was Burglarized

Sorry, I'm not going to put all my guns in a safe every time I leave the house and then take them all out again every time I come back home. Maybe if I went out of town for several weeks but not otherwise. However, I don't just leave them out in the open. I keep them in drawers and under...

    Classic Parking Garage Senario

As Alexander the Great used to say when presented with various strategic scenarios: "Put me in that situation and we'll see what I do."

    My Home Was Burglarized

well, I think "exceptionally irresponsible" is a bit of an exaggeration. I know some people who lock their guns up in a safe *all the time* and others who don't. Sure, if your place gets the door kicked in every few months then yeah I'd say it would be, but if you've never been burgled before...

    My Home Was Burglarized

May I suggest you get a PO Box or other type of mailing address for your business? I work from home as well and do not want my clients knowing where I live, so I use a private mailbox at a UPS store.

Pregnant couple attacked by 5 girls on bus

Near where I live, a gang of girls knifed two Marines under a pier and stole their stuff. It's gettin' crazy out there!

Odd experience with gunsmith today... or am I being a crybaby ?

You don't need our permission to be annoyed with people's behavior. If you don't like him, find another. Having said that, I have lots of different clients in my profession (not a gunsmith) and sometimes they annoy me with a constant stream of questions. And sometimes I have to cut them...

    CA gun law

Everything in life has a gray zone. Where do you draw the line? If you want to avoid all gray zones don't own or touch a gun ever.

    Good idea to avoid hollow-points?

That's funny, I'm a lawyer too. Maybe that's why I've chosen FMJs instead of HPs ;) Thanks for all the good responses.

Agent Cooper's revolver in Twin Peaks?

I like the 3" better. Here, I think, is the 2.5" version:

    CA gun law

Kudos to the poster who quoted case law. What you and I think about what the law means is irrelevant. All that matters is how courts have interpreted it.

    Good idea to avoid hollow-points?

Until about 2008 I had HPs loaded in all my guns at home. They are far more effective stoppers than FMJs, usually. However, for some reason in 2008 I decided to replace all my defense loads with simple FMJs. This was because I figured that the biggest threat to me came not from an intruder...

Agent Cooper's revolver in Twin Peaks?

Hi, does anybody know the brand/type of revolver that Kyle Maclachlan's character Special Agent Cooper used in the show Twin Peaks that ran from 1990-91? thx

Does ATI top-folding stock sit flush on a Mossberg 500?

Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing an ATI top-folding stock for my Mossy 500 12 gauge persuader. But I hear that, in the folded position, they don't sit down flush with the barrel. I hear that they wobble a bit up and down and/or they don't come down on the barrel but have a 1/2" to 1" gap. My...
