    High Standard Derringer Misfires

I appreciate the reply, a fair amount of folks have been pointing towards the little nylon "gear" referred to as the ratchet, but I will examine the actuator as well. I only recently acquired this one, so am not sure of the history. (Heck, this may be why I acquired it, but I hope that's not the...

    High Standard Derringer Misfires

Anybody here have any experience working on a High Standard DM101 22 Magnum Derringer? I have one that apparently does not rotate (or cam) the firing pin from one barrel to the next. If you have experience or know of someone online and can point me in a good direction, thanks!

    Marlin quality improved?

I just bought a Remlin 1895G. Rear sight would not stay folded down. Horribly cross threaded plug screw in receiver. Crunchy, long, heavy trigger pull. Unless you rack it like the devil, 100% jam. If you rack it as fast as you can 70% feed rate. Impressed? No, me neither... :barf:

    Need a 9mm W-231 Load

ahh, shoot, I guess you're right, 4.6 already DOES work, no point in pursuing 4.5 just to save one lousy grain, huh?

    Need a 9mm W-231 Load

Well, I shot those 2 loads some more today, and either one seems to do ok, I may even split the difference and use 4.5 gr of W231 for these. Function is beyond reproach in both my 17 & 19 and shoots to the sights pretty well, too. (Now you watch, 4.4 & 4.6 both shoot the same accuracy wise, but...

    Need a 9mm W-231 Load

Glock 17, 19, EAA WITNESS Match & S&W M&P 9 and 9c. I read elsewhere about 4.5 & 4.7 gr so I may work up a small test batch in those weights. I'm aware that I'm exceeding lead data, but Berry's does say that their double thick plated bullets can drive to 1500 fps ok (not that I'm trying to get...

    Need a 9mm W-231 Load

Guys, my common 45 acp and 38 spl powder is Winchester W-231. I have a bunch of Berry's 9mm 124 gr Hollow Base, Round Nose, Thick Plated heads and in the interest of commonality of components, I'd like to find a load for IDPA with that head and powder, if possible. My current experiment is with...

    Adventures in XD night sights

Sounds like YOU did it RIGHT. Most folks don't use a solid enough vise and make it worse by trying to use a tiny hammer, combining to make a buggered up mess. Solid setup, enough hammer for the job, propper fitting works way more often then not. OMC

Green laser for a Glock 26 for CCW?

Well, it's GREEN, but where ya gonna put it (on a G26)?

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

Well, I went out and put another 35 flawless rounds throught it, I guess it's getting to be good to go, perhaps that first round WAS a dud round, or something... Heres a pic or two...

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

OK, I'm willing to accept the group's opinion that they are not far enough off to be a PROBLEM, but you guys DO see that they are SOMEWHAT offcenter, right?

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

Well, OK, so I'll have a spare spring around "just in case" then. Heck it was only $4 or so. I DO understand what you mean by unintended consequences though, so I'll just keep shooting the thing as is for now. I visually checked the firing pin condition and protrusion and tried to see if any...

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

"I am iffy on the Wulff spring. The bulldog already has a light trigger by design. A Wulff spring may just make it too light, especially on cocked fire (SA). " No, I mean to install an EXTRA power hammer spring, not a reduced power one...

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

That's GOOD, most votes are to continue shooting, don't be concerned YET. That's a choice I can do, although I did go ahead and order a new Wolf XP hammer spring (can't go wrong with THAT, right?) Cause I really like this gun, great size to power ratio for a wheelgun, it was just "un-nerving" to...

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

Kosmic, thanks for the reply and taking the time to check all that you did for me. When I look at the firing pin hits, as they are related when their chamber is at top center alignment, is looks to me that it hits slightly to the left of center, not so much displaced up or down. I will take a...

What to do here (Older Charter Bulldog)

OK, a while back, I got to thinking that I wanted an older Charter Arms .44 Special Bulldog, and found a minty one on line at a price that I thought was fair enough. When I first went to shoot it, I loaded it up with some factory 240 SWC ammo that was clean and new looking (but of...

Not bad at 50 yards, how do I move up to 100?

"One of my most exciting .22LR set-ups I ever owned was a Ruger 10/22 HB, scoped with a Simmons 4X w/ AO and target turrets. Off the bench, using Remington Thunderbolts, I was able to maintain under 2" at 225 yards all day long!" I find that incredible.............

    S&w 29-2

I would guess you are pretty much hell-bound IAW Saxon Pig. By those standards, if you offered it for sale here for $350, it would languish untouched until the end of time, as no true "High Roader" would pay you so little for it. Except that we would all council you via PM to raise the price to...
