I've got a small question here......... As you can see, I've got a nickel S&W w/square butt checkered grips. In my area, it's kind of hard to find nice replacement grips (wooden/square butt), so I was wondering if there's anything aside from the regular buffing that I could do to improve...

These various pics are all of a K-38 Combat Masterpiece with (as others before me have described) a 4" barrel and the Baughman ramped front sight. My particular example has a factory nickel finish, though they were also produced w/a blued finish as well.

Haul him infront of a firing squad (a few states still have that left on the books I think....), substitute S&W 500's for the rifles, sticking to the same procedures.

My best guess would be a K-22 Combat Masterpiece--"Pre Model 18" It's blued w/a 4" barrel, not sure about the sights.....but is also a 6 shooter. Was first produced in 1949, which would correspond somewhat to the time period you've got..... Feel free to post a snapshot if you want too

As you can see.....I'm refining my skills, though it's obvious I'm nowhere near Catman's level :cool: First, the guns...........:D I thought this series was kind of ironic.......snapping shots of my tiny Taurus using a 'splashy' shot of the huge S&W...

I agree w/GUNKWAZY on those grips there.........is interesting though, because that's the first pic of a model 10 I've seen w/a barrel that short. :)

Today I finally took my new toy ('55 K-38 Combat Masterpiece) out for some fun, but first, I had to go buy some goodies which simply consisted of a nice carry case, cleaning kit & tube of Flitz. :) For ammunition, Ultramax was the order of the day, more specifically some of their 125gr...

Am back again.........this time after taking some Flitz to my K-38 :cool:

That's a beautiful gun right there.........perhaps you can scour my backyard w/me sometime and with my .17 HMR.....we can rid it of 'wabbits' and the like :D

N frame seems pretty big for something like a .22........but hey, who knows??

God bless the K-Frame. :D I've got a K-38 Combat Masterpiece (1955 vintage--shooting 125gr. Winchester JHP's) and boy do I love it. Nothing can pull me away from those .38's right now :cool:

I inquired about this to one of the range masters at the range I go to and he said that he though Hogue made some good grips for my Tracker (an M17C/17CB4) that started around $50.......you might check their website though http://www.getgrip.com/ *(The Tracker's the one on the top obviously ;) )
