Today I finally took my new toy ('55 K-38 Combat Masterpiece) out for some fun, but first, I had to go buy some goodies which simply consisted of a nice carry case, cleaning kit & tube of Flitz. :)

For ammunition, Ultramax was the order of the day, more specifically some of their 125gr. 'Cowboy' Ammunition (comes in a nice western style box).

I was a little intimidated when I opened the box and saw the size of those cartridges, next to the puny .17 HMR's I had out, but the recoil was barely even noticable once I got going.

The first few rounds I shot DA, but for the remainder of my session, I shot SA because I thought that might help my accuracy.

Now as far as accuracy goes, my mouth dropped wide open. My first time shooting .38 and I managed markedly better than I had in 5-6 sessions shooting .17 HMR......

One minor problem I had off the bat, is after I fired the first six shots, I couldn't get the cylinder to pop out. I found the culprit to be a loose ejector rod. I remedied that by simply twisting the rod towards me all the way and then tightening it up real good once the cylinder was open.

Oh, and the target was at about 15-20yds.....groupings were hard to determine. Look at the pic below and you'll see why......(maybe I'm just not that good at measuring/judging distance? lol)

After I got back, I popped open that Flitz and set to work on a nice long polish.

Nice revolver, good shooting. A little blue Loc-Tite or fingernail polish on the threads will lock the ejector in, I have a 67-1 that did the same.:D

seeker THe model here is a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece, an excellent police and carry version of the Model 14 K-38 Masterpiece Target revolver. The Model 14 has the 6" barrel, different front sight and wider hammer and trigger (usually, anyway) THe Model 15 I have has a heavy barrel, and shoots remarkably well. They are a pleasure to handle.
My Model 14 is even better.
