floorplate
In reading my post I realized it might seem I was requesting a floorplate for this SPECIFIC triggerguard...what I meant was for ANY floorplate that might be worked and altered to fit. I can confuse things to no end.
Here is a photo of my trigger guard; this is what I'm going to place on my worked up 6.5x55; what I need to know is if this is an early Oberndorf triggerguard since I have to find a floorplate for it. Does anyone recognize if other Mauser floorplates would fit with some work? (i.e. 1909 Arg...
Hi,
I'm hoping someone out there can give me some info regarding a reamer drawing. I've adapted an M1 to a 260 Rem by turning a new barrel and chambering. My problem is this...the fireformed cartridges are not extracting, maybe one out of three or four, and are still sliding into a Wilson case...

This item seems to be for a Mauser rifle...according to the mounting configuration. It definitely doesn't lend itself to a double rifle...thank you for the link.
Here is a picture of a part that I received with some other Mauser pieces...can someone identify it? It is a Mauser trigger assembly block but I don't know to what trigger system...single set? When I received it the cam didn't have a pin in it so I'm not sure if it is correctly oriented. Any...
length
Thanks for all the replys...I'm NOT seating on the lands but if the profile of one has the ogive at "x" and I'm seating it (for example) .006" from the lands if I change to a different profile and the ogive tends to be higher on the bullet then the seating depth is going to be deeper in...
In measuring my chamber and corresponding leade I came to realize that if I seated my bullets to the ogive, a different brand or style of bullet would either effect the COAL or seating depth. Does anyone know of any website where I can find a listing of bullet lengths for comparative...
Hunting, not target, round? NOT!
Let's see...let's try necking down a .308 Win to 6.5, yeah, that'll work. Easier yet, how about a .243 Win and neck it up?...wow, that'll work too! As far as it being a "hunting" cartridge and not being able to get target slugs? You had better do more...
After reading all your accounts and corrections I'm really curious at this point...I've included the 260 Remington dimensions...are your fireformed brass within these parameters? or could it be another chambering close to the same family? 7x08?
barrel age
No "O" in front of the "V". I called the Browning head office and after a lengthy search it was concluded that because barrel serial #s were discontinued after 1955 that the barrel # could possibly reflect the receiver number minus their prefixes...they told me they had no way to...
grips
Thank you for the response...I guess my next question would be if you fabricate the jigs yourself or if they available commercially? & if so, where?
Grips
Gentlemen, (I didn't notice any ladie's names in the posts)
These are some wonderfully creative and beautiful examples of woodsmanship. I am a neophyte in the making of pistol grips and was wondering if each of grips were custom inletted from the outset or do you use a jig to...
I have a 30", Belgian made, Browning Auto 5 barrel with a serial number of V388XX...I would appreciate it if anyone can help me identify the vintage of this barrel. Pre 1954?
