I've had most Glock models and once I shot the S&W M&P 40, I sold the Glocks in 40. I've found the recoil is much less snappy in the S&W and I'm back on target faster. If you haven't tried one, do yourself a favor and do it.
IMO your $20-$30 would be better spent on a camo burlap sheet from Walmart and a couple $10 cheap decoys placed about 10-15yds away from your burlap blind. Drive around at dusk and find where they roost and set up there. Call him in and there you go.
How I got this nice tom this weekend
Personally I can't stand Carbon Express arrows and love the Beman ICS Hunters and Easton FMJs for real heavy work.
I have some 400s that will fly great with field points however where I see the difference is when I put a Broadhead on the 400. The groups were all over the place. Bought some 340s...
I am liking the Rage Hypodermic and before that the titaniums. The new shock collar system is great. Haven't had one open in flight nor has one failed to open up for me in the 100s of times I have shot them.
For fixed blades my Muzzys are great but going forty the Magnus Buzzcuts as we'll.
I used to never wear hearing protection when I hunted and it never bothered me at all then one day I had my 357 Blackhawk on me and a deer within 20 yards and let a round rip. since then 3 years ago my ears ring ever so slightly. Point is, if I would have been used to wearing muffs I wouldn't...
I also hunt in Florida where it's always hot. As soon as possible we but, skin and quarter then put on ice til I get home then process it accordingly. Aging IMO is not necessary with deer however letting it cool in a walk in fridge makes processing it easier the next day.
Also looks like you are bending your neck down to the peep. Go get fitted right at a local shop. I think you'll find your DL is too long and or peep is in the wrong spot. Your head should be as vertical as possible.
You must have a huge wingspan. My DL is 29" and my arrows are either 26.75" or 27".
MC I wouldn't be worried about aluminum vs carbon. Aluminum have been killing for years just fine. Ballistic reasons I shoot carbon but wouldn't hesitate to shoot aluminum under 30yards. At 40 yards, carbons...
I can't wait Until Sept15 for South Carolina doe bow season. We could go earlier however I have not been able to get a deer yet with a bow and does are thick where we are so I figured I'd stack the deck in my favor this year and save the horn hunting for October if need be.
Any ways I would...
I almost bought the craze also but went with the bow madness XS instead. It was a toss up but I wanted a single cam bow for ease of tuning, under 30" ATA and at least 320IBO. Either way I don't think I could have gone wrong. Congrats on the new bow and good luck this year.
I also have a 250 and there's not much out there on them. Mine is the deluxe version I believe with the nice checkering and is almost 100%. I have the schematic that was listed above.
Neat rifle.
