Does anyone have any experience with the Mission Craze bow? I handled one at the local bow shop and was impressed by it's size and feel. I'm thinking of replacing my older PSE Nova with one. I like the size, weight and adjustability of the Craze. One appeal to me is if I decide to upgrade in a few years the Craze could be passed to my son or wife, since the draw weight and length can be adjusted so greatly and easily. The price is also an attractive feature, with the bow, sights and rest right at $370, or the bow alone for $290.

It seems like you get a lot for the money with this particular bow.

What are your opinions or experiences?

Thanks!

Well, I stopped by the shop again today and handled and shot the Craze, and it followed me home. The bow tech set it up for me and I flung a few arrows. I was really pleased by how quiet and fast it was. I also love how light it is and how compact (28" ata) it is. Price was $394.96 after taxes. I'm sure there are better out there but I believe it's a lot of bow for the price. Definitely better than the Nova I've been shooting for the last several years. The adjustability is insane. 15-70 lbs draw weight and 19-30" length without using a bow press. I'm also trying something a bit new. I've always shot using just a kisser button, but we set this one up with the kisser and the peep. So far I like it but we'll see how it goes. He also told me that if I decide to upgrade down the road to bring my son by and he will set the bow up for him. Now I wish these thunderstorms weren't moving through so I could fling some arrows!

You got a real nice little bow man.

My oldest son shoots a craze and it really pretty fast and smooth. My boy is 13 years old and shoots the same draw length as me 29.5" So I have shot it a fair bit. It might not keep pace with my Mathews Reezen but it sure isn't far behind in shootability.

Love mine! Shoots great really nice handling bow. It's only 32 inches axle to axle!!!!

Update: I've been shooting this bow for a couple of months now and I love it. Great bow for the money. I ended up doing away with the peep and going back to just a kisser. I tried it with the peep but couldn't get used to the restricted field of view and It didn't make a difference for me accuracy wise. I took the peep off about 4 weeks ago and I've been shooting more accurately and comfortably ever since. To each his own I guess.

With the bow set at 67lbs with 30" draw, I'm flinging 447 grain arrows at an average of 262 FPS. Not too shabby in my book.

Archery season opens Sept 7th and it can't come soon enough :D

I almost bought the craze also but went with the bow madness XS instead. It was a toss up but I wanted a single cam bow for ease of tuning, under 30" ATA and at least 320IBO. Either way I don't think I could have gone wrong. Congrats on the new bow and good luck this year.

I'm going to hunt archery first time ever this year after 45 years of shooting at targets. Note I said shooting at, not necessarily hitting. I got an old Hoyt off Ebay five years back for 70 bucks to see if I actually could use sights what with my bum right eye. I'm good enough to put 'em all in a paper plate center at 35 yards, so I guess I'm good to go, but they might bounce off I guess since I don't have the latest and greatest, never bothered to chronograph an arrow. I'm shooting aluminum Eastons, so I don't figure they're very fast.

I just can't get excited every time a new bow springs up. Heck, I don't even know what's on the market. I've picked up the new lightweight short wonders at the bow shop. I just can't get into it. Easier on my pocketbook, though, just buy all the 2 year old junk toss offs on ebay from guys that wanted to "upgrade". :D I don't know if it'll work, though, since I never actually bow hunted before. We'll see. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a new pistol, though. I admit I'm a cheap SOB, though. I mean, I do that with everything. New phone comes out, so what? I'll pick one up on ebay for cheap after it's obsolete. I don't own a smart phone, don't want the NSA turning on the camera in my bedroom and I don't need a phone smarter than me. Motorcycles, same way, buy used. Of course, I'm a pretty decent motorcycle mechanic which helps.

Buddy of mine gave me an old Bear Stag Hunter 50 lb recurve. I've been getting better with it, no sights, nothing fancier than a nock point on the string. I think a little more practice and I'll be good at 25 on a deer size target with it. I'd like to take one with that recurve, would be way cool. I mean, heck, I watched "Mongol", the story of the rise of Genghis Kahn the other night. It inspired me. :D

Don't mind my grumblings, though, congrats on the bow! Sounds like you're really into compounds, your thing. I'm somewhat black powder addicted, I do understand, but I'm going to fight all urges to care about new bows. I don't need another expensive affliction, ROFLMAO! :D

Ears shut....naaaanaaanaaaanaaaa...I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!! naaaaaaaaaa........:D

The deer get tougher every year you know, only the latest and greatest will kill em. :D

Just kidding, I don't get excited every time a new bow pops up either MCgunner. This is actually my first new bow. For the last 7 or 8 years I've been shooting a PSE Nova that I got for $75 from my brother in law. Before that it was a hand me down Bear Whitetail Hunter that my Dad bought new a long time ago.

I enjoy archery and hunting but refuse to spend the big money some of the bows command these days. We seem to have a similar mindset. I don't buy new cars, not worth the premium over a used one that works just as well for much less (also a decent mechanic, which helps). I keep phones and cars till i wear them completely out. ( daily driver just turned 340,000 miles)

I just decided I'd rather put the money towards a new bow instead of restringing the old one. The new one will be used for many years to come by either me or my son.

Well, if I get money ahead, I wouldn't mind one of them new fangled lightweight shorties, either. I'm just jealous. :D I can't justify it since I've not even killed a deer with a bow, yet. I only figured out I could SHOOT a compound with sights 5 years ago. All these years playing with recurves, I never thought my bum right eye could see sights. I taught myself to shoot lefty with long guns when I was 8 and it feels weird to shoot righty anymore, but I don't think I can coordinate a left hand bow, a little too much to ask. :D I bought that old Hoyt off ebay mainly just to see if I could do it and I found I could. Little tough in low light, though. I don't know how that's going to work out. I kinda need good light to see the pins. If I find I have to shoot instinctive, I'll just try to take one with that old Bear recurve. I'm getting decent with it, but I ain't there quite yet far as hunting with it.

If I get good enough, find I can see those pins enough to take deer, I might upgrade in the future. I hate to spend the money until I figure out I can actually USE that thing, LOL, but the close ranges in the woods where we've moved just BEGS for bow hunting and it extends the season. Too, doe are legal and, like I say, neighbors tell me the rut is usually early here.

Again, congrats on the new bow. Sounds like you're moving up. Those short bows sure would be handier in a blind or stand. I'm wondering if anyone can extoll the virtues of those single cam bows like Mathews advertizes on the hunting shows? What's the advantage other than you don't have to synch two cams when installing new cables? It's just a question I've had and figure you guys are obviously more informed and into it than I am.

Don't fret a lot over your "obsolescent" bow. Howard Hill killed almost everything, including an elephant with a long bow and wooden arrows. Slower bows are more forgiving and let you get away with minor errors in form, and your release etc.
