I have been considering reasons for CCW licensing...

Some might say it is unconstitutional, and I agree it may be. A large part of CCW licensing is for officer safety. It's also a stay out jail card because most areas prohibit concealed carry. I believe part of CCW is to hold good citizens accountable. " You can carry a gun to defend...

    All-purpose Assault Rifle

H2O man. Sweet rifles at the end of page 2 there. What kind of stock is that on the M1a? Thanks! Ss

Travel from Sweden to enjoy American gun culture.

nyggis, I do hope you get the chance to make the trip. You will enjoy yourself greatly. Most gun people here are glad to provide cool toys and even ammo to fellow shooters. Cheers! Ss

Shear_Stress This I heard from a very credible member of the American Pistol Smiths Guild. I assume he'd know. Ss

    Forged???

FYI, some Kimber 1911 Barrels are also cast. That's kinda scary, considering they are supposed to be some of the best 1911's. Funny how advertising works...:uhoh:

7MM Mag vs. 3/8 steel plate

I would guess the 7mm would easily blow through that plate.... (Am I right???!!)

Savage 10FP McMillan or FN Patrol Bolt Rifle

I'd go with the Savage. I've shot both side by side. The Savage is more accurate, the trigger is better out of the box. The advantage to the PBR is that it takes detachable mags. I'd say spending 20 minutes justifying any gun to anyone is a waste of time. It either shoots or it doesn't...

    .40 M&P trigger job?

www.bowietacticalconcepts.com (David Bowie) Mr Bowie is a gentleman and a talented gunsmith. He'd be my choice. FWI, the limit for a safe trigger pull on the SW MP is about 2 lbs. After that, problems occur.

Will human blood take off gun bluing?

I remember the suicide guns the police department traded into the gun store I worked for. They were not cleaned off well after the scene, and so yes...blood will cause problems on bluing. It was rather disconcerting to even handle the guns knowing what they had been used for.

Tell me all about Glock conversions

True, it can be pricey. If you don't shoot a lot, reloading is probably not a good option. In my case, I can reload 10mm for anywhere from $6 to $10 per 50. A lot of fun can be had with a .22 conversion on any gun, so that would be wise to get. If you did get the Model 29, you could put a...

Tell me all about Glock conversions

The Model 20 glock was designed before the Model 21. The M 20 was designed for the pressures and recoil of the 10mm. The same thing with the 29 and 30. The chamber pressure of a 10mm is 37,500 for full power stuff and maybe half that in ACP. I say that for no better reason that there is...

Tell me all about Glock conversions

Any .40 SW Glock can be converted to 9mm and .357 sig. I believe the .45 ACP Glock can be converted to 10mm, but I would advise getting a Model 20 Glock if you want to shoot real 10mm. You can convert the M21 to 45 Super with a switch to a Jarvis .45 barrel (call Dan at LoneWolf Distributors...

    Molon Labe .... the book

Yeah, and I am going to take your opinion seriously....:scrutiny: Why don't you provide some evidence for the claims you made about someone? Boston knows what he is talking about. He's written 11 or so books, so based upon the quality of his writing, you've got a lot of gaul talking...

    Metal Glock Frames

I like the idea. It'd be a good platform for a competition of duty gun. Does anyone have idea how the aluminum rails hold up after a high road count?

.22 conversions for sidearms, developing point shooting skills

22LR, Thanks for the comments. The one exception to the conversions in terms of accuracy is the Marvel. I don't know if you ever had a chance to shoot one, but they are incredible. I have one for my 1911, and it is amazing. The factory group was .399" at 50 yards. Yikes! I recently...

.22 conversions for sidearms, developing point shooting skills

Thanks for the comments. I see myself in the future acquiring several of these conversion kits. Cheap ammo is a thing of the past. I think a .22 AR conversion would be a good investment for longer range training. Plus they'll allow me to shoot the platforms I love for cheap.

    Glock grip reductions: Part 3

I guess I fail to see how this defaces the gun. The gun was ugly and worseless to me before I sinned, and gave it a purpose. Getting cut every time I shot did not help to instill getting shooting skills. Pain and blood at every range session can get annoying. I will continue to violate all...

    Glock grip reductions: Part 3

Last one. I too used the Acragel filler to fill the hollow area and build the beavertail. I first made the beavertail as a minimalistic modification to see how the stuff worked. Besides, getting slide bite is the worst part of shooting any Glock. When filling the back strap, I learned...
