Savage 10FP McMillan or FN Patrol Bolt Rifle

I'd get the Savage and spend the leftovers on better optics. The Savage is cheaper and will be just as, if not more, accurate as the FN. The good thing about the FN is it's built on a Winchester 70 action, which is not a bad action.

Savage. I prefer them for paper punching, although you probably don't really need the McMillan stock. Heresy, I know. I've got a B&C Duramaxx stock on mine that's actually quite good for the money.

How does the FN warranty work?

Actually most PBR's i've come across are only $100 more than the savage pluss I found a dealer who letting them go brand new for $650 but I know there has to be a catch. I dont know what the warranty on FN is and seeing that they dont have it on their site and it's sunday, I wont find out till tommorow

FN Patrol Bolt Rifle. Better action, better feel and balance, accuracy is right there... and you never have to spend twenty minutes justifying the FN to everyone you talk to about it.

I'd go with the Savage. I've shot both side by side. The Savage is more accurate, the trigger is better out of the box.

The advantage to the PBR is that it takes detachable mags.

I'd say spending 20 minutes justifying any gun to anyone is a waste of time. It either shoots or it doesn't. Only a fool lies to himself.

Ypu can bridge the gap between the PBR and the SPR with the PBR XP. I prefer the classic claw extractor on the PBR XP and SPR if I am going to get a Winchester 70 style action. Otherwise, why not by a Remington?

(Yes, the serial number is visible. I no longer own this particular rifle)
