Got a 708 this year and took two deer. Hundred yard shots to the lungs, both just fell over. I used 145gr Speer Grand Slam on one and 140gr Winchester Power Points on the other. Very light recoil. You won't need to use premium cartridges the Power Points do fine.
Very effective flat shooter...

I have found more info on the BLR. The pre-81's and the 81's seem to have most parts in common .
Changes have been made to the Lightweight model. The bolt looks to be remodeled and fitted with a firing pin inertia system on models 1997 to present. The lever also looks different on the...
I've only shot the Browning BLR in 7mm-08, love it, very accurate and the action is smooth. The lightweight models only weigh 6 lbs.8 oz. and come with straight or pistol grip stocks.

The last time I did any amount of shooting with a centerfire rifle was in basic training in 1959. You could say I'm rusty. I'm using the sling...

Any centerfire caliber rifle at 75 to 100 yds. using a scope or open sites whatever you feel that you shoot best with at that range.Using 5 shot groups. elapsed time not being a...
need to know
I wasn't going to take it down unless I have to. But I would like to have all the necessary info and some nice photos ahead of time
Unless of course curiosity gets the best of me:)
I've been interested in knowing more about the mechanics of the BLR and have searched the web and found only fragments of information on assembly and disassembly of the trigger/lever /bolt mechanism. Perhaps the best source so far has been in reference to Gun Digest volume IV. Most people...
