Thanks to all for the great advice. This is why I love the High Road. I am going to stoke it with the wad-cutters and just be happy I have gotten her into shooting. I am going to take her out this week and let her shoot it some more so she can build her confidence. Once again thanks!

The new GPs only come with Hogue grips. The company that made the old grips closed down. The insert grips are still available on ebay and I think you can still by them from Ruger. I suggest you go ahead and buy some because pretty soon they will be harder to find.

I need some new wooden grips for my 638. Would love to see pics of yours. Also what is the length difference between boot and combat.

I bought my 638 three weeks ago. Can I join too? The best snubby I have owned so far. The only thing I need now is a set of CT grips. Which model of the CT grips do you guys recomend? Also does CT make a set of grips longer than the standard boot grips that come with it?

The Charters I have handled lately have had very gritty triggers and the fit and finish are horrible. I think you are better off with Taurus.

I picked up a 10-6 in about 95% condition original grips for $275.00 here in Jacksonville Fl. Found it in a local paper it has a very light turn line. In all the shops around here they range from $300-$450.

I have a Smith & Wesson model 10-6 .38 speacial. Will this gun handel +P ammo without any ill effects? Or should I just shoot standard ammo and keep the +P stuff for defense?
