It also appears that the gun's hammer is resting on a safety notch - you can see the unique position of the nipple slot on the cylinder. It is almost in the middle and you can only see one clearly. Whereas if it was resting on a chamber two slots would be more visible. Most likely this weapon...

I also think that when it comes to 1860's, Piettas have less of a tail issue than with the 51's
