Not really, most SFPD squad cars here that I've seen do not have an AR15 in them. Actually it's quite rare if I ever do see one. And that's something I look for. I do notice the smaller cities around SF, their PD's have ARs...

Look for a norinco SKS para (16 inch barrel) will run you about $200-300. Nice reliable handy short rifles. That's what rides in the back of my trunk.

Oh....JFPO's website only mentions this conversion...I remember reading about this a while back. Never been able to find the outfit that does it.

Use the wood stock. Take broomstick or other round peice of wood. Wrap it with sandpaper and sand out the stock. Remember take it slow, as it's easier to remove wood than to replace it. Sand it till the your bull barrel is completely free floating. There you go.

They are hard to come by. Robinson Arms that first brought them in decided to abandon them. I believe another company is working on the rights to import them into the US. Wait a while or pay a premium for the ones already in the US. P.S. take a look at the Super Veprs. They are the bomb.
