I just got an XDs and I love it. I put 100 rounds through it and not a single issue or malfunction. I've only shot the Glock 36 once, and it was nice, but I opted for the XDs due to it's smaller size.

SIG Has gone dealer direct, which is why they are harder to find, and will be more expensive if you find one... that is why I bought a used P228 in like new condition as soon as I found a good deal on one. Had to get it before they are even harder to find.

The last time I got ammo at walmart, the guy behind the counter used to work at a gunshop so he actually knew what I was talking about when I asked him for a particular type of ammo. It was nice for a change to encounter a knowledgeable walmart staff member.

I'll take the +p load if it's available, because if you can get a few more fps, why not? If it's not available, and the bullet design is a good one, then I wouldn't worry too much about it.
