    Ar15 16, 18, 20

Sorry my internet went out. Noise level is a major issue when hunting coyotes I probably spot one and not have time to put in ear plugs. Is noise levels that different from 16-20 inch barrels or not? I'm 52 and most conversations are, can you repeat that please?

    Ar15 16, 18, 20

I am in market for an AR15 of some sort, the most affordable ones have 16 inch barrels. I'm more inclined towards 18-22 inch barrel length. I haven't any desire for a heavy rifle over 8.5# scoped and loaded. I will use it primarily for hunting coyotes, p dogs and maybe even defense. Noise is one...

    Steel-cased .223, Bolt Action

I was shooting Herter's steel cased ammo in 223 in my Vangard and my Axis with no problems. Then I bought a different lot (200 rds) and they wouldn't extract had to use cleaning rod to knock them finally gave them away. Now brass ammo is back on the shelf I'll never buy another steel cased round.

    .30 caliber AR options

Rem 742 is designed to shoot factory 150gr loads only and still it will chatter the action. I know of two that was returned to Rem. about 15 -18 yrs ago and that sent back to owners with a card saying they could not nor would not fix them. I sold mine when I saw this happen to them.

    New Frontier Armory LW-15 GENII

I was offered a light weight AR it has a flat topped AR with light 16" barrel. Seem very light and sweet will be a pickup gun, coyote calling and pdog gun. I'm not wanting a heavy gun (I have them in bolt actions) but one light and walking friendly but I know nothing about this lower. New...

    Bt 99

I have no idea of round count. Was made is 78 and I got it in trade last week. Trap rounds with very short brass swell just beyond the brass in the plastic area but RIO and Kemen have brass slightly longer than Fed. or Win and stick solid. The area is very smooth and been there for some time...

    Rossi 357?

I want a 357 in 3-4 inch range but must be under $400 including tax. Rossi has a couple offered new in under that price. I know their 92 levers are ok but are their revolvers any good? Thanks

    375 h&h

I had a Rem. Classic in 375 hunted elk, deer with 270gr hornady and even shoot p'dogs with it just to get familiar with it. Loved it but college bills added up and sold it. Down side factory ammo was lot more money than '06 ammo was. Beware of a man with one rifle because he may know how to...

Sell, wait and sell, hold forever, what to do with AR15?

2 Months ago I sold a Mini 14 for peanuts compared to what it would bring today. I don't have an AR or AK or Mini or any other semi auto cf rifle. Ammo is gone for now, reloading supplies for 223 dried up for most part and I'm to broke to know. I'm hoping loading supplies by summer pdog season...

    Stuck steel cases?

I have shot over 200 in the past few months in my Mini 14 and in 2 bolt guns and never had any sticky cases at all. Enjoy and don't worry but if one does stick tap it out with brass rod.

Savage Axis:is it a QUALITY rifle?

I picked up one in .223 yesterday for a pickup gun, trigger is heavy but shoots great. Only big dislike is the mag but have never had a bolt with a mag I've liked yet (Rem 788). Can work on trigger issue myself. I tell you how it is working out in 20 yrs. Pdogs and other varmints will hate it...

Anyone familiar with the T/C Thunder Hawk Shadow ?

I have one and shoots very well. Like it better that my CVA but the breach plug on mine is fixed (not removeable). Not a big factor to me at all. I fire all my muzzleloader to unload any way. I use CCI #11 cap 85gr of fff Goex and Hornady 385gr great plains bullet. I paid $120 used with a cheap...

    bobcat hunting

I would use the 30-30 if scoped with 150gr cast lead flat nose. Will kill without bullet blow up.

    .257 Roberts, 6.5x55, 7x57 Mauser, 7mm-08

I have .243, .257 Rbts, 6.5 Swed, my son has a 6mm. I believe 6.5 to be better than the smaller rounds on deer. .25 and under bores are ok on deer and smaller game but I have had to many bullets not exiting for my liking (didn't say wouldn't kill'em). This past fall ground was gun powder dri, my...

Should you not "Store" your revolver

I never put a gun away without mag loaded or cylinder loaded. Only single shots and dbl. left unloaded. The tube mag on my 22 or my pump shotgun isn't loaded when put away family is grounded. I have no need of a club or paperweight that is how I was raise and my children as well. SO LOAD THAT GUN!

    Black Powder ONLY??

If they desire to do it great. Diversity is why America became great. BP was the only game in town for hundreds of years smokeless about a hundred. I was heading that wasy myself until eyesight has become an issue (all sights and target fuzzy). Scoped bp guns don't do any thing for me. Nothing...

    small pop and no bang?

Nipple is probily the problem and seek out some real blackpowder. I had a no name rifle years ago and was flusted by it until I change the nipples and bought real BP. It went off every time, it was more accurate and much easier to clean. Real bp has a bad rap it never deserved in my oppinion.
