Excluding individuals that provide security like guards, police officers, etc, why do you choose to open carry? Wouldn't you be at a disadvantage if people/bad guy/etc knew preemptively that you are carrying?

I tend to agree with this. Wouldn't you rather put your trust in a carry gun that has more reports of reliability than one with less? I soooo want to get this gun for it's slimline profile and ease of carry, but man... if there have been reports of this failing on close to 50% of users...
