Just in case you didn't know it--Spyderco is the best folder manufacturer on Earth

spyderco is a great company, proof is in their ability to listen to their customers, aswell as the in quality and design of their products.

    Yay! new sharp pointy thing.

sorry, I don't see how the wave draw is ''going in the opisite'' direction needed. And if this is a real problem, why not switch to left side clip mount, carry in right pocket and draw in reverse grip? I don't see a proble, if youre in a close combat situation, dont you want to open your knife...

    General consensus of Cold Steel?

If CS made a grohman of the same cost, and in the same ''realm'' as a real grohman, I would consider it a real offence but this gives us a cheaper alternative, albeit a much poorer one. I do own a 4116 krupp CS knife, slice a peice of paper and its dull, puts it right up there with CRKT, as...

    General consensus of Cold Steel?

I have nigh on to thirty cs knives, kerambits, nearly each of the voyager line and a few other fixxed blades and I have had two problems, both fairly insignifigant. Yes the adverts are over the top but these knives can do it, the voyagers have very thin edges and cut extremely well, but are more...

    Dejavoo vs. CRKT M4

Though I like the dejavu design, it has the spyderhole wich is a spyderco regersterd trademark, so I'd get the CRKT. BM's are great, but are reaping the profets from patent infringement.

    how to sharpen serrated edges

you can get a gheap specialty triangle sharpener for a buck or two, should be able to aquire one at any lowes store they stay well stocked on various sharpeners. also lansky makes a few brand specific sharpeners and most serrations are knockoffs of spyderco serrations, so a spyder specific rod...

Need help picking self-defense only knife...

spyderco police, harpy or cold steel land and sea rescue, are good midsize combat folders. the only S&W knife I've owned FELL apart after two weeks of carry, therefore I do not trust them.

    help me with this thing

stop me if I'm hijacking' but I don't trust S&W knives, had to many fall apart on me to put any faith into them, might want to run over that with some locktite while youve got it dissmantled for kote-ing. personaly, I would retire that one and get a CRKT or kershaw

    glock 23 advice

Hi, first time around the firearm section, but could you tell me about the GLOCK 23's reliability, saftey and corrosian resistance? I know they are far from the safest gun around, but I do know safe handling. I would eventually like to purchase a autoloader, and this (to me) looks like a...

How much better are expensive knives?

the knife is the user, or rather it becomes part. however they are simple, but tolerances are the trickey bit. guns are simple, but only after you see the scematics. knives, unlike a chute, are for utility, not to save you from the power of gravity, and therefore are not as pertanant, but as...

Janich on the Outdoor Channel this W/Th

Saw that yesterday, recorded it to. ODCH used to air a ''personal defence TV'' thay had a eged weapons training episode, what a joke, the lesson was shoot, and never use the knife because it will imediatly be dissarmed if you try to use it. wonder if thats why that program is no longer on the air?

    edged training

Terms-clarified Personal training- ''flow''more or less, movements, economy of motion, ''contact drills''(if you could call them that) against a wall Theorization-yes the mind games, followed with repetition of the drill with no partner, based on muscle and vein targets, in all grips and...

    Kukris?

Hawks, in my opinion, are about equal, primarily in grappling, hammering, act better in reverce grip, and use of the handle as the offence bit, and in the unlikley event that it breaks, you have a club and ''hand axe''/throwing knife/push dagger, but loos in speed and controll.

Don't have a bushman but in the CS video they look like they have too much blade flex, and the slick finnish is notorious for, well, being slick:confused: Just have the CS kukri machete, gurkha not in yet, and in the side of a standard fence picket(pine/1/2'') it'l bite 5'' deep:D

    Knife questions

The stab ''and twist'' is to grant more pain and blood loss to the attacker, personaly I don't think thats ''fair''. But then again I'm slash oriented, rather slash and then get as far away as possible. As far as knives I'd suggest a spyderco, and put a zip strip on the top of the hole and carry...
