Free / cheap places to shoot in ohio?

Hello, I am trying to help a friend in Cleveland, locate a free or inexpensive place to shoot his first pistol. I am a Ohio native, but have been away for 6 years now and really only shot occasionally at ranges before I left due to the high price of range fees. Does anybody know of a gun...

I want to pass on a gun to my son, any suggestions on what to buy?

1911's are not going anywhere anytime soon. but on the other hand, thanks to me, Browning Hi-Powers are getting harder and harder to find. :D

im thinking of buying a .308 encore but wonder if i can get a safe and crisp 3-4 pound-ish trigger job that will last. any advice?

    Glock 19 or 1911

if you want the best of both worlds get a 9mm 1911 from STI, or a BHP

    Sig P250

if the 250 was available without a useless light rail i would try one out, as i have been waiting for a lefty friendly sig for a long time, i guess i will have to resort to a 229SAS instead because it looks like rails are here to stay:(

Are TiN AR15 parts necessary? (if you use one pls post a pic)

im no coating / plating expert, but considering gun parts are rarely hardened very hard, like above 50HRC i cant imagine that a .001" or less coating would help much other than making cleaning a little easier

Need to choose an AR-15 format.

i don't think you could go wrong with any of these 4 choices but i don't think Stag has been around as long as the other 3

    GLOCK 31 vs. GLOCK 17

my point is if you spend the extra $300 on an actual G17 you basically get a G17, peace of mind, a factory warranty, and an extra backup pistol to go in your safe for 300 dollars which is a pretty good deal. and if you get a used G17 it can be even less of a difference in price, but to each his...

    GLOCK 31 vs. GLOCK 17

i think a 9mm glock is a better choice for shooting 9mm ammo than a .40S&W glock, you still have to buy the (non OEM) conversion barrel and new mags, you could just spend a little more and get an actual 9mm glock that comes with a 9mm barrel, 9mm extractor, 9mm breech face, 9mm ejector (if they...

    hi-power magazines

http://www.cdnninvestments.com/hi9mm13blmag.html these are (in my opinion)the best BHP mags you can get and they only cost $19

    GLOCK 31 vs. GLOCK 17

if you want to shoot 9mm get a G17 or a G19, why use a .40 breech face / extractor with 9mm ammo even if it does "work"? 9mm +P will get the job done:rolleyes:

    Mec-Gar Magazines and Sig P226 and P229...

i think mg has a patent on their 17 round follower, maybe sig ships 15 rounders because they are more reliable?

Most Accurate 9mm Out of the Box

www.larrysguns.com has a used 9mm pardini GT-9 for sale that is probably insanely accurate, the S&W 952, SIG P210, and H&K P7 series are the most accurate 9's i have ever seen though also any 9mm STI is going to be pretty impressive

Tell me about the SIG Trailside...

i also have a MK10 and bought a Trailside as a lighter weight plinker, its very accurate but it's definitely not a plinker, its very ammunition sensitive with anything but the wolf match ammo i have been using, you can / should only shoot standard pressure ammo in it which isn't always easy to...
