Who is the best current C&R gun seller?

AIM is the best large distributor in the business, maybe they'll get more. Allan's Armory is out of Tula hex laminate 91/30s too. A year ago I heard there were about two years worth of 91/30s left to import. Prices are already going up. Allan Schisel

Who is the best current C&R gun seller?

Does any dealer/distributor have hex laminate M91/30 Tulas with each rifles bore described and rifle individually photographed? All matching? All acces? That's why mine cost $130 and up. Allan Schisel

    S&W M65-3 in 38spl?

I recently picked up a S&W M65-3 that's in 38spl. The inside of the frame is stamped M65-3. The barrel is stamped 38spl. A 357 mag cartridge won't let the cylinder close, so I guess it's 38 spl. My S&W book doesn't mention the M65 in any caliber except 357, only the M64. Was the frame stamped...

    Recreating Doc's "Streetsweeper"

At 25 yards or less, a pg shotgun with an 18.5" barrel is great for it's intended purpose. I'm an average sized person and have no problem shooting one with 00 buck. I would stay away from 3" shells though. If you hold it correctly, no problem. I saw a buddy put in a 3" shell, hold the shotgun...

Sig 228 from DAO to "original"

I've always wanted a Sig and now that I've gotten to hold one, I'm over it. The Sig is very well made, a fine piece of machinery, but I am "accurate enough" with a Glock, so no point in keeping the Sig. The whole point of Glocks are KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) for gunsmithing and shooting. I...

Sig 228 from DAO to "original"

I'm new to Sigs, haven't even taken this one totally apart yet. It's DAO and I'd like to change it to standard DA/SA. I looked through Brownells and they have SIG 228 parts. What parts do I need? Please don't tell me a new hammer is involved, that ain't cheap. TIA, Allan Schisel

    Canadian Police stamped revolvers

Does anyone know of a website, book, or agency that could help identify Canadian Police revolver stamps? I'm talking about Model 13 S&Ws which I believe are ex-Canadian Police revolvers from the 1970s and 80s. I have a couple I'm trying to identify from One stamp looks like a crown or top of a...

    Disheartened by "sportsmen"...

I used to work at a community college and was sometimes involved with registration. You should see what goes on when classes fill up and people are trying to register late. I was in the health science area and we had strict rules on class size for courses with labs. It's a safety issue as a lab...

    Disney World and CCW

I really wonder about the legalities of signs that say "No guns allowed." I have a feeling there are state laws covering that, but I'm ignorant of what it is (I live in Florida). I always ignore the signs and carry anyway unless it's stated in the concealed weapon carry laws that you can't carry...

What do you guys think about Gun Tests Magazine??

I have some of the same problems with Gun Tests that have already been stated. Still, there is no other gun mag that comes close to it in objectivity. Even if they only give valid reviews 50% of the time, it's still the best. If there is another mag out there doing a better job, I haven't seen...

    Need advice about young shooter

The only part that bothers me is your statement "His parents do not particularly like guns, but Tom likes shooting and wants to have his own gun." Like Gunpacker said, make his parents buy it and they can let you hold it for them. That way, there is no question of a straw purchase , the gun is...

    Kahr customer service?

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble with them. I purchased a Kahr PM9 a month ago and emailed and called with a few questions. They returned all my emails within 24 hours and called me back the next day after I called them. I also bought an "A-Grip" grip cover and purchased the wrong one (my...

Just thought about something I saw on a new Kahr pistol today

The new Kahr PM9 (9mm) and PM40 (40 S&W) have polymer frames and blackened stainless slides. They have 3" barrels, are DAO, weigh 15.9 oz, and wholesale from $510 to $580 (with nite sites). That would put retail at $660 to $755. Gun Test liked them. They are the size of a Mustang Pocket lite (a...

    Mossberg Persuader anyone?

I remember the Styker/Street Sweeper thing. That is not what I'm talking about. That's banned for everone without special licensing. Isn't it now in the same class as full autos, short barreled shotguns, silencers, etc.? I remember the pistol grip/shotgun letter from the ATF very well. It's...

    Mossberg Persuader anyone?

If you put a pistol grip on the shotgun, you'd be in possesion of a "handgun" like firearm, so no, that doesn't sound legal. Check with the ATF on regs concerning pistol gripped shotguns. It's been a while since I read the newsletter, but I do remember it stated things very clearly. This isn't...

    Mossberg Persuader anyone?

The ATF has ruled that a "shotgun" with a pistol grip is NOT a long gun and is classified as a handgun when it comes to a buyers age. You have to be 21. This came out in an ATF newsletter a couple of years ago. You can argue that you do not like it, it makes no sense, it's not logical, whatever...

    Saiga in 308

Does anyone have info on these guns? How accurate are they with that 16" barrel? How bad is the kick? Muzzle blast? Do the plastic mags hold up? TIA Allan Schisel

titanium or stainless in a snub .38?

Got my numbers wrong I have a 342PD 38 spl, not a 442. All these numbers mix me up! I agree they are expensive, but since I have an 01FFL, the money hit wasn't as bad as paying retail. Allan Schisel

titanium or stainless in a snub .38?

Titanium J frame I have a S&W 442PD titanium which weighs 10.8oz unloaded? With 125gr CorBon +Ps, it kicks no more than a steel K frame 357. It's not a tack driver, but I can hit a pie plate with it at 10 yards. I don't shoot it all day long, but as long as I can hit a plate at that distance...
