So the next door neighbor comes over and holds up the tip of his thumb and first 2 fingers. Seems that as he picked up a Large Rifle Primer from his bench, it went off charring the skin, embedding the anvil in his thumb and ricocheting the cap off his eye brow. Good thing he was wearing safety...
I've got a Millet TRS-1 4-16X50 mounted on a Remington 700 in 30-06. It is a heavy rig but it shoots well maintains and returns to zero well. I wouldn't want to be dogging with it but if you're on a watch or at the range it works great for the money. You might also want to look at some Vortex glass
I got mine on sale for $90. I find it ok to transport, it is a bit of a pain with long mags. All in all I don't regret having bought it. At home I can clamp it in a bench vice while I'm doing mods or cleaning on a rifle.
I've had a Leatherman Wave since it came out and have loved it. It seems much better built than the competition. For AR owners Leatherman just came out with the Mut. I just treated myself to a pre Christmas present.

Gun folks are usually the best people on the planet. It's one of those pay it forward things. I let people try my guns and loads and they return the favour. It's always nice to see a wide eyed rookie fire a 1911 and expecting a howitzer, then seeing the big smile on their face after sending 8...
For that price? Buy it before they change their mind I spent about 600 for my ex-cop 226 but I love it. There's holster wear and grip divots but it shoots like a laser and was maintained by an armorer through it's life.
I've had an M&P 40 since they first came out, out of the box the trigger characteristics were terrible until I installed an Apex "carry" trigger kit. The pull is 4.5 lb, clean and crisp. I now love it. That said I have a 9mm Sig P226 that shoots like a dream as well. Sig is a lot pricier but...
An Emerson CQC7b opened in a leg cargo pocket. I squatted to put something away and I noticed a bit of a sting in the back of my calf. Fortunately the tip only went in 1/8 of an inch. Good thing I didn't have momentum. Fixed with a band-aid. Never carry a rapid deploy folder in a large cargo pocket
Nematocyst
It's an Eberlestock Tail Hook just gut it this year. Best day pack I've ever had. Just checked my 336, it's an F serial # so it makes it 1949.

336 RC. Had it for 2 years, 2 dead deer. The original Marlin butt plate had broken so I put a Pachmeyer recoil pad on without cutting off any of the stock, then I refinished the wood in tung oil and put on a rosewood grip cap. The grain on the wood is outstanding
