    j frames????

S&WFan...probably the BEST post I have read/viewed on any of the boards! Very informative and attention grabbing. Thanks for sharing.

    S & W...642 vs. 442 ?

I agree with above two posts, as well. My HD/Night Stand gun is a 4" Model 64...she's a peach to shoot and accurate as beats all! Somewhat less expensive to pick up used...they are everywhere!

    S & W...642 vs. 442 ?

One (442) is blued, the other (642) stainless. Other than that, no difference so long as the dash number is the same. The 442 is my choice of gun to carry just because I got it at a good price used. Either will serve you well so long as you use good SD ammo and practice.

Which sub-compact .40 would you get?

I chose the PM40 since I feel the Glock 27 and SA are closer to mid-size guns. If I need a small gun that is easy to conceal but still packs a whallop the PM40 is my best bet. The only place I can carry a G27 is on my hip (pockets ain't big enough on my pants)...and I would rather have a G23...

    Need cheap Holster ideas.

If you are serious about taking a SD class, and may want to go to some more advanced settings, a Blackhawk Serpa w/ paddle attachment will hold up a lot better over time.

    Best sub $400 pocket .38sp?

I would say an older digital camera or larger PDA (maybe a Blackberry) would give you an idea. You are roughly a bit over a pound with a loaded Smith Airweight or Charter Undercover, a bit more for a Taurus UL , and a bit less for a Taurus Total Titanium or Charter Off Duty, and a LOT more for...

Compare the S&W CS40 to the Kahr MK40?

I posted this on GT, but haven't gotten any responses. A LEO friend of mine is looking for off-duty carry gun and interested in a CS40 (he carries a SIG 229 on duty), but isn't really that knowledgeable on concealed carry. I recommended the MK40 to him, but am interested in finding out if...

    M&p 340

Just got my M&P 340 last night. Already sporting the Clipdraw (also have an UM pocket holster) and loaded with RBCD .357 ammo in it and Speer SBHP's in the Bianchi Speed Strip. Gonna shelf the Charter Bulldog for awhile...

    the Hi-Point of revolvers

I'll go against some of the previous responses and recommend a Charter Bulldog in .44 Special. I carry one daily, it shoots great and the round is a stopper. Now, it costs more to feed...not a range gun, but still an outstanding choice for someone on a budget. You can troll the boards and...

    Daily Personal Carry Weapon

Charter Arms undercover 14 oz loaded with Speer GD 135 +P usually in my waistband as shown, but if I am carrying the Kahr CW40 or G22 on my hip, or when I am tucked in it goes in the pocket. Accurate at 10 yards with decent stopping power.

    Gun size and accuracy

An uncomfortable or difficult grip will disrupt accuracy more than the barrel length in my opinion. If the P-01 felt better in your hand, I would bet you would shoot it better at the range. I shot the M9 (Beretta) in the Marines, and while I was able to shoot expert on the KD range, I would...

    Ammution Question- Glock

In my G22, I carry the Winchester White Box 165 Grain JHP's and practice with the Winchester White Box 180 grain FMJ's. Both are fairly inexpensive and have the same point of impact at 15 yards and in (where I practice mostly). They are both at Wal Mart.

    Barami Hipgrip Users

A picture of my Barami Hip Grips with Tyler T-Grips that I coated with clear Plastidip. This is my rough draft, I plan on thinning the Plastidip the next time to avoid bubbles, and will probably paint it on.

    glock 26 vs ruger sp101 as a pocket/backup gun

Both are a bit on the heavy side for a BUG (at least for me). My Charter Arms Off Duty at 14 oz loaded with Speer 135 Grain GDHP load for snub nose revolvers works for me. On the Auto side, the Kahr PM's seem to be a popular choice. These are my choices for a BUG that you would pocket carry.

I used to belong to Quantico Shooting Club. There is a wait for civilians, but worth it if you shoot long distance much. Plus the RSO's there are top notch. http://quanticoshootingclub.com/qsc.php?view=ranges

    Pick Request...Tuckable Holsters

I have found that a Smart Carry works just as well with a J Frame as any tuck holster when being used for deep concealment. It is also useful when jogging or wearing clothes that do not support a holster such as athletic clothes, lounge pants, etc... It works especially well with dress slacks...

    Any Suggestions?

Roger, While my snubby (Charter Arms Off Duty) is generally carried using my Barami Hip-Grips, I realize that isn't a really popular method with a lot of people. I generally have found a high ride IWB holster worn appendix carry is decent while driving. It allows fairly easy access to the...
