    Carrying Spare Mags

I use a condura belt pouch that came with my old schrade pocketknife. Despite being the perfect size for a single-stack magazine, it doesn't look like one.

    .38spl short barrel SD load

I really like Speer's 135gr +p Gold Dot short barrel loading.

Best brand of batteries for our toys?

Voted other. For AA or AAA batteries, I've tried many brands & types and settled on Sanyo Eneloop NiMH. Besides much higher capacity than alkalines, they're the only rechargeable I've used that will hold their charge for a long time. They're rated to hold 75% of their charge after 3 years...

State with least restrictive gun laws?

CC laws are only part of the "gun laws" picture. To me, the laws that justify the use of a firearm in defense/deadly force as well as protecting the rights (against things like civil suits) of someone defending their family/home/property/etc, are even more important than stuff like Class 3 or...

What scope to put on M1A supermatch ???

Voted Leupold as that's what I used on my Supermatch. FWIW don't forget to factor in the mount+rings costs.... just for those, costs can run $200-300 if you buy quality.

Deadliest 22LR ammo for small game

Probably CCI Stingers or one of the many Stinger "clones" This type of ammo isn't (IMO) very accurate, but it is powerful.

Various M4 makers and the features they offer

I myself wouldn't say there's anything wrong, but there is stuff missing (like Bushmaster's plastic trigger guards) as well as misleading. The misleading part is scoring all these things equally.--or perhaps scoring at all To me, something like chrome-lining or having the barrel made out...

    Best Price on AR Lowers?

Correct. 4 companies produce 95%+ of all forged recievers. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=318113 As long as you avoid Olympic, Heese/Vulcan, and other cast ones, you'll be fine. Recently bought a bunch of Stag lowers. Just as good as my RRA, Bushmaster, Colt, etc...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

I'm pretty sure the spongy creep on these old PSP triggers comes from worn trigger to sear to sear bar geometry not those 2 bends in the sear-bar itself. Those bends exist to allow the sear bar to attach to the drag lever, yet remain ~ in the same plane. The part isn't a spring and shouldn't...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

Too late....I ordered the part shortly after starting this thread. Part came today, and I dropped it in. Typical "3 hands required" installation that takes 10 minutes the 1st time, 10 seconds once you figure it out. Gun seems to function fine... cocks, uncocks, and drops the striker/fires when...

Can bodyguards carry concealed in anti states like IL,NY,and Ca ?

I used to carry concealed (for private security work) in ILL. FYI, If your job stated that you are always "on-call," then you can carry 24/7---no time limit. Otherwise, you legally have 1hour before and after your shift (travel time) You need to carry: Your DL, FOID, PERC, and FAC while...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

Probably, the gas-delayed system is sort of self adjusting...the more powerful/gas pressure, the more powerful the gas delay/back pressure. P7s tend to have issues with weak ammo, not +p stuff. It's not a big deal, just that buying one in better condition would have saved me time + $$$.

    Finally broke a P7 :(

Yeah, the weird thing is that the breaking point wasn't at a right angle area. It was 1mm or so from a "fold" in the part (part appears to be a stamping,) but these folds/bends exist on both sides of the attachment point and neither is that dreaded 90 degree angle usually responsible for these...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

I usually carry a P7M8, so when the PSP trade-ins came out last month, I jumped in for 3 (2 "A"s and 1 "B") They all appeared to be in the same condition, but I guess there is a difference....Both "A" grade ones, passed their 500rnd test fire with no problems (yes, I test all my guns) but not...

ATF agents showed up at my house?

I'd have to agree. About 5 years ago (lived in Illinois back then), I bought a mail-order 50BMG upper for an AR-15 (from watson's weapons). A few days after it was scheduled to be delivered (it never came) I got a "visit" from a local plain-clothes detective, and 8--(yes 8) BATFE agents dressed...

    We cry about ammo prices...

More ammo production lines (supply) being diverted to military production, but the same/higher civilian (demand); higher cost of base metals/materials; higher cost of oil (effects manufacturing, shipping, just about everything really); Wolf, S+B, (and other foreign mfrs) wising up and...

    ruger 10/22s

Here's my latest 10/22. I wanted a lightweight, all-weather version for varmints. I chose the somewhat unpopular Tactical-solutions aluminum-shrouded barrel as it fit my needs (very lightweight, chrome-lined, and slightly "loose" chamber allows the reliable use of CCI Stingers, yet greater...
