I've got a pair of Cav Arms lowers that I picked up a while back that I'm getting ready to build. One is getting built as a scoped 20" in the 3-Gun-ish mode. The other is getting registered and is getting built as a suppressed 9mm, mostly for use as a house gun.

Crrrrraaaaaap, I just ordered a pair of their lowers from Brownells after work today. Before I saw the latest developments obviously. Hope my box get's through to the FFL and out the door alright.
I've never heard anything kind said about the ATI stock's quality or longevity. If you're set on a top-folder, look for a Knoxx Cop stock. I've got one on a an 870 and it's great.
OP is working with an underfolder and doesn't have a tang for a Beryl-style rail.
OP: The Ultimak is your best option. If you want to keep the weight down because the mount is pretty far forward, look at the Aimpoint T-1 or H-1 micro red dots.

I was totally on board for one in in whatever we're calling Tan this week with a MSRP in the $1500-$1700 area. At $2600 well, lets see, I could pick up:
a Marlin 1895SBL
a pair of Aimpoint T-1s
a registered Cav Arms Lower
and a really nice, 20" upper

My local dealer has USGI's for $14.95 and will be getting the PMags this week at $17 per. He's definitely not a high volume dealer, so I'd say the bubble seems to be popping. CTD and Botach can piss or go fishing for all I care.
My favorite local store just got in a Ruger MK II Target on trade. He's gonna put it out at just under $250. It's in pretty nice shape with one flaw: some numb nuts drilled and taped a scope rail on to and and didn't get it aligned with the barrel, it still has the rear sight though.
