Laser Sight or Scope for the ROA??

The next time I stop to get gas and see one of those light things I think I'll tape it to my Remington clone and see what happens. I will try to get someone to take a snapshot of it. I have question or two though. Do they work in the daytime? Would it project light through the smoke or to the...

Laser Sight or Scope for the ROA??

Wow ok I want to jump in too. I don't have any idea why you would want a scope or a laser sight on your ROA. I would not want to but it is your gun. I would like to see it in action so take some pics of it. I would think you will need a breeze as I don't think the light will make it through the...

Can I store my gun in a bucket of oil?

OK you are right and I am sorry to come off so unpleasantly like I did, I was just a little dumbfounded and didn't take it seriously. Yes at my shop we have 5 gallon buckets of wd40 and it does or is a pretty good solvant, but we use it to dry wires and electronics and such. If you have to...

    BP Picture Thread

I like the stock coloring but I am not into the sniper type thing. It looks beautiful and very worthy of the pics. Please tell me what it is and how it works as I was thinking it doesn't look like any front stuffer I have seen. What is the bolt for? What does it shoot? The scope throws me off...

    Remmie Buffalo Gun from DixieGuns?

Looking through my dreams I found a kit for the Remington "Buffalo" gun at DixieGunWorks. I am thinking about ordering it maybe tomorrow but would appreciate any tales of quality of the gun as well as the company it self. I would also love to hear if anybody outthere shoots this 12in barrel monster.

    Brass Frame Pietta: NO Manual

I use the load lever to push the wads down before setting the balls in, but it probably doesn't matter. Put the caps on last, just before shooting, a bump on the cap would suck while seating the ball. Good luck and enjoy your toy.

    Brass Frame Pietta: NO Manual

I have not used anyother kind of powder as there is only one in my area and thats what I can get. I don't order online as well I just don't. When I first got the thing a few months ago I started with 22 to 25 grains but then I noticed that the flask spout holds just a bit more than 30. True...

    Brass Frame Pietta: NO Manual

I have a Pietta 1858 Remington with the brass frame and judging by the serial # it is a little older than yours. I have found that the Remington #10 caps were perfect but the CCI #10 are to small. My store doesn't carry the Remingtons anymore so I use CCI #11 magnum caps and pinch them a little...

How Good are they Supposed to Shoot

I have a basic question of accuracy for black powder revolvers. A buddy and I just got back from a couple days of shooting and we put about 300 or more rounds through my 1858 Remmie Pietta. We were going non stop to test a few theries or suggestions. Anyway I was able to hit 1 1/2 inch targets...

    Lead vs Wheel Weight balls

First off wonder and accurate information. I just got back from a couple days of shooting. A friend and I went to test a few theries on loads of powder and Speer .451 vs my Wheel Weight .451. Accuracy is equal to 25 yards but the wheel weight balls go through and do not flatten. Now although I...

    Lead vs Wheel Weight balls

The local gunsmith tells me I have to use soft lead and wheel weights are ok for a rifle but the Sporting Goods Store says Lead is too expensive now and they don't carry it but wheel weights are fine. I just finished casting a big ole bag of .451 balls out of wheel weights now I need to know if...

    Brass Frame Remington Questions

Would I be ok in cutting off the end of the nozzle to about 25 grains, Not that it's a speedy loading revolver but durning the 2nd box of balls I discovered that the flask holds just over 30(the max on my measurer) some spilled over. I have been using .451 but one box was .454 and it left a...

    Brass Frame Remington Questions

Thank you, all the sporting goods store has is that 777 FFFg and I can't see an extra $20 for hazmat and can't afford 50lbs or whatever. Is there a way to get a smaller nozzle for my flask to hold a lesser charge...only lazyness as it removes that extra step in measuring. I usually shoot about...
