It's not my intention to make judgements of the NYPD for good or bad btw. I simply find it interesting.
NYPD documents every time one of their officer's firearms are used. And that info is available for the public. I read a report of a year once somewhere. Some of the things that struck me about the report were how many accidental discharges there were, how many suicides occurred with officer's...
I'm thinking about getting a single shot shotgun to casually shoot clays with friends and family.
All I'll be shooting is low power cheap target rounds. So should I still get a 20 for less recoil in these light guns? Or will a 12 not be bad with light target rounds?
Shooting a 19-5 that I got in a trade this morning. I shot four different types of ammo. 3 types of .357, and one .38. The .38s and one of the kinds of .357 were pretty difficult to eject. Not that I had to hammer on it or anything, but it was a lot harder to eject then it should have been...
Holy crap! A lot of people on this forum have way too much money!
I imagine they are shooting all this ammo off the deck of their yacht while sailing in the Caribbean. Or at least that's what I'd be doing. :)
My mom bought a Wingmaster for $300 in like new condition a couple of months ago at a gun show. There were about 4 others we saw at the same show for the same price. They are not hard to find. And used guns are way overpriced in my part of the country.
The reason the older Wingmasters are...
Yeah, the longer barrel was fixed choke. That's fine with me though. I just want the long one to shoot some clays with family.
I guess it sounds like a good gun. As long as I could swap the ugly synth stock with something wood someday, I'd be happy.
I really like the CRKT Minimalist knives. Something like 18 bucks on Amazon and 24 at a local outdoor store.
Opinels are some of the best in any price range.
The Victorinox paring knife is great. I like it better then my more expensive paring knife. It's the most used in my kitchen. I...
I am looking at some replacement stocks for Mossberg 500s and these look pretty nice.
I shoot left handed though. Are these stocks shaped for right handed shooters or will they work both ways?
Anybody have any experience with the stocks or have them on one of your guns? Any pics?
I was at Big 5 today and noticed they had 2 synthetic stock Mossberg 500's that were sold with 2 barrels. 18 and 26 inch barrels I think. One was priced the regular $400, but the other was on sale for $300. I asked the sales guy why one was on sale but the other wasn't, and he said the...
Very interesting, thanks! I'm surprised at the number of accidental discharges. And at the number of people shot overall. Compare that to the total killed in 1971!
I looked at both and went with the LCP. Reasons: I think lasers are silly and pointless; I like Ruger better then Smith; Every ounce counts to me; I think the LCP has been around long enough now to be a proven gun, but the Bodyguard is still pretty new.
I like mine. I think the trigger's pretty good for what the gun is. It's accurate and mine's had no failures. Shooting it will tire my hands out pretty quick but I don't think the gun is painful or unpleasant to shoot.
It's 12oz and .8" thick. The next size up is the LC9 at 20oz and 1"...
