    Charter Arms Rimless Revolver (CARR)

Smoovbiscuit, My dad's owned a 610-no dash with a 6.5" barrel since the early nineties, and I've put quite a few rounds through it. It's a 50oz. gun, so even full-house 10mm loads feel pretty tame, and .40's feel like 22's. It's very accurate, and a blast for shooting pin matches. I would...

    .44 Snub Options?

Charter has obviously gone through some bad runs over the years, but my Bull Pug (which was manufactured 2 years ago) has been nothing if not reliable. I have over 1000 rounds through it, and have yet to have an issue of any kind. It's a little rough in the looks department, but the trigger is...

    S&W 625 for self defense?

That's interesting. I've had some of my surplus ball ammo stored in RIMZ clips for over 2 years (bullets down). I just went and checked, and they're all still there! My guess is there have been differences in manufacturing tolerances. Lord knows that's the case with some of steel clips I have!

    S&W 625 for self defense?

1KPerDay, I have a model 22 Thunder Ranch, and apart from the ugly hole in the side, it's been a pretty nice revolver. I switched the grips out for more comfy (yet ugly) Pachmayr Decelerators to fill the hand out a bit more, and had an action job done soon after I bought it, and I have to say I...

Traded defective Taurus 85 UL for S&W 637

My father bought a new 625JM a few months ago with the same "off-center" barrel problem. He's already sent it in once, and Smith "repaired" it supposedly, but it's still off-center, so it's back to the factory again. This kind of QC from a "performance center" gun hasn't left me feeling too...

What's Going On With The Ruger LCR?

I finally had a chance to see one at a local shop, but it was for display only, and not for sale (owned by an employee I believe). All I know is that the trigger pull on the thing was absolutely incredible for a snubby. It seemed much lighter than my 642. After the honeymoon is over and prices...

    .327 vs. .357

I hope 327 Mag does well, but I don't see it happening. With ammo prices the way they are, and with little likelihood of many 1st time firearm purchasers (many of which may consider the round) wanting to reload, I see the availability and price of 357, and especially 38 killing it. IMO, if...

    New Ruger polymer wheely!

From what I understand the main reason behind the polymer construction has to do with the way the gun absorbs recoil. Supposed to be more "pleasant" than an aluminum gun. Isn't it also supposed to have some sort of cam in the fire control system to make the trigger lighter than a typical snub...

    Charter Arms - worth it?

My current model Bulldog is finished poorly, doesn't have the smoothest action, and just plain looks like a cheap gun. However, it has been stone reliable, and is plenty accurate. Smiths and Rugers are prettier to look at and have smoother actions, but I've actually had more reliability issues...

Better manstopper 357 Mag or 45 ACP?

Wow! This thread just keeps on going...why break with tradition? :) Seriously, while I have read all the numbers posted in this thread by various individuals, and all of the statistics pointing to .357 being a marginally better round, I'd still have to give the nod to the .45. The reason...

    Charter Arms Rimless Cartridge revolvers

I'd look seriously at the .40 and .45 versions. I own one of the latest versions of the Pug, and I've never run into a single reliability issue. It's a little fugly, but it's as accurate as any other snubby I've shot, and it goes bang every time.

    .44 Special as a CCW?

I have one of the newer Bulldogs, and don't find it to be any more cumbersome to pack than a 642. It's a little rough, but the trigger is nice for what it is, and the accuracy has so far been superb for a snub. I'd give it a shot for 200 bones.

    44 Special Manufacturers

I think you can also find Rossi 720's on the used market from time to time. They haven't been produced in several years, but I hear they're good for the money.

Right handed but shoots with left eye.

I can relate. I've been blind in my right eye since birth, and I'm right-handed. I shoot handguns righty, but rifles and shotguns southpaw. I guess it doesn't feel strange to do since I've shot them that way since birth. You just get used to it. However, I have to shoot pistol-gripped shotguns...

    4" 1911 Recommendations?

Hello, In my search for a good house/car/ccw I'm looking at several 1911s. I already have a full-size Para P-14, but looking for something a bit more compact, preferably under $700. I like the Springfield GI Champion a lot. Any other suggestions?

    NRA Article - Taurus Judge

I'm actually considering one of these as a house gun. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's the most versatile weapon out there, but for some purposes, it could work quite well IMHO. I live in a townhouse development with neighbors on both sides and paper-thin walls. Plus, with the layout...

GP100 3 inch still being made?

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. Makes me feel a little more vindicated about looking for a gun I was sure was still in production. I did notice that every distributor I checked with online showed the 3" as being on backorder, so maybe getting one will prove to be a bit more work than I had...

GP100 3 inch still being made?

Old 112, I believe they had it marked "$305.00 Cash". The gun was tight, and the trigger was quite nice (as expected after who knows how many rounds) but it had a lot of discoloration on the cylinder and holster wear. Didn't seem abused, just well used. I'm still thinking about picking it...

GP100 3 inch still being made?

Thanks, I was considering that at at least one shop maybe the guy just wanted to get rid of the two 4" GP's he had, but he also kept insisting that Ruger made a 2 1/2" GP100, which I have never heard of, so one of the two of us is misinformed (Possibly me). I have no problem ordering a new...

GP100 3 inch still being made?

Hello all. Long-time lurker and first time poster. This is a great community you have here, and I've picked up a wealth of information. Thanks! Anywho, I've been in the market for a new nightstand/car/camping revolver to compliment my wonderful (but big and heavy) Smith Model 610. After...
