Range Review: Colt XSE Commander .38 Super

PO2Hammer: I didn't have any pierced primers, but the firing pin would drag at times. I replaced the firing pin spring with a Wolff extra power one I had in my box. Clifford: I've put around 2k through my gun with no frame issues. Just keep it lubed and you'll be fine. Colt has been...

Range Review: Colt XSE Commander .38 Super

No it has the standard feed rap set up, but Colt has a unique way of throating the barrel that gives very good support. .38 Supers do not have a reputation of kBs and my pistol has had no issues with feeding (except Corbon 125 JHPs).

    Strips or Loaders?

I carry both when I'm toting my Cobra around. I'll have a speedstrip or two in my pocket and a speed loader on my belt.

Interesting Article re: Alaska & Palin

I think it is important to note that the figures listed in the article don't tell the whole story. While the total revenue generated by tourists may be higher; the majority of it does not go towards conservation. I'm willing to bet that hunters, fisherman, and trappers contribute more directly...

.357 SIG in an STI Trojan 5.0?

I don't know what restrictions you have there, but I don't think that .357 Sig 1911 is your best option. The Super .38 matches Sig (Corbon and handloads) and the 9x23 Win can exceed; I think are a much better fit for the platform. Neither round was adopted by an military and are wholly...

Opinions on low end shotgun target loads

Estates seem to be pretty good. Lately I've been burning up the cheep Federals from wally world. That being said, my gun patterns best with 1oz AAs and STSs; followed by Ferderals. The cheap Winchesters shoot ok, but they stick in the chamber of my 870 and are too aggravating to use...

    Anaconda Frame Size Q

The Anaconda uses Colt's Mk. V action and uses an enlarged King Cobra frame. IIRC the frame/model designation was AA. All of this is somewhat academic since Colt used basically the same lock work scaled to to frames size.

    Value 1911 $64,000 Question

I don't own any of the three so I voted RIA based on reputation and my observations of pistols on the range. I currently trust my life to a Colt.

    Marlin 336 vs SKS

I have a SKS and a Winchester M94. I would sell my SKS before the Winchester. I simply enjoy shooting the Winchester more. As a side note: The dust cover scope mounts are junk! They won't hold a zero and they typically have a high rail. The high rail makes it difficult to get a decent cheek...

SA Milspec 1911 will not feed hollowpoints

Try different magazines. There are a few different feed-lip styles and different manufactures may have slightly different geometries.
