What are you loading for 6.5 Grendel?

I have plenty of SST's hoarded away so I will inevitably give them another try. I read a lot of good reports online about them but was a bit underwhelmed when I was finally able to take a deer with one. I have 38 acres in east Texas that is a mix of hard and soft wood timber. Pigs avoid my place...

What are you loading for 6.5 Grendel?

Seems like the SST's and the ELDM's have been the main bullets available for Grendel recently. I shot a doe with a 123gr SST and didn't care for the lack of a good blood trail despite optimum bullet placement. I'm experimenting with 129gr Interlocks for hog duty as soon as they start showing up...

Who is lucky enough to hunt on their own land

I grew up in a large city. By the age of 10, I knew that I would buy my own land someday, it was always in the back of my mind. I prayed to God that if it was his will, he would open up doors to allow me to be able to buy a piece of land somewhere. I looked at properties for years before I was...

    Salad days are back!

I wouldn't say the salad days are back, but this is a good deal. Probably about the the third time they've had these for 399 in the last 6 months.

Significant rust forming on my $1,000 Kahr. Please help!

This. It wont take much pressure to get the rust off. Just use plenty of gun oil.

    Lee "APP" press

Thanks for the offer, I'll get it back on the bench and start playing with it. Will post up videos of the issues. That should make it easier to diagnose.

    Lee "APP" press

I bought one when they first came out. Still haven't been able to get it to run right. I haven't touched it in a few years. Maybe its time to revisit it.

Paul Harrell: Using a car as cover

Modern training is leaning towards the pillars of the vehicles providing better protection. Engine blocks aren't what they used to be and most gunfights near vehicles end up at the rear of the vehicle instead of the front. He didn't address any of this in his video. I would have liked to see...

    Why I'm not a hunter

In Texas it seems to have become a rich mans sport. Less than 10% of land here is publically owned. A deer lease can run you anywhere from $1,000 a year and up with most being much higher than that. Feeders can run several hundred dollars, stands can get into the thousands, add in corn and...

How Much Ammo Do You Really Need?

I keep more components on hand than loaded ammo. When my son was born I started buying for him rather than for me. He's three now but we have enough to have him shooting into his college years. Dad planned ahead and stocked up nice during the Trump years.

    Fort Smith primers?

I bought quite a few when they were selling for $200ish per case. I've slowly been using them but they work fine, no complaints on my end. I'm glad I purchased them when I did.

Effect of an empty station on a Dillon progressive loader

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over .003 inches of OAL variance in a pistol round.

    Reloading Shotgun SLUGS

I load the Lee 1oz slugs as well. I found a cheap MEC sizemaster at a pawn shop a few years ago and bought molds before the panic. I've had decent accuracy from my slug loads out to 25 yards. Casting and loading slugs sure beats what they are selling for now.

    I guess people want a .40 now......

I stocked up on cheap police trade in 40's during the salad days. A couple of Sig 226s and three 229's. I remember what they cost new, there was no way I wasn't buying for $350 - $400.
