I have an SA loaded and scratched mine. The SS finish is both polish and blasted. I used polishing compound on the shiny surface and a green scuff pad on the blasted (finger relief) and the scratch is gone.
I love my loaded. No issues whatsoever. I did change my MSH out to a S&A curved one in stainless. The only three things I would change; sights to nite sites, front strap checkering , single safety but I can live with the ambi. Everyone bitches about the FLGR, but I've had no issues with it.
I think we need to keep this in perspective. It's not that he acted, it's the methods in which he did act.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
My legislator is anti-gun. She is clueless and in the back pocket of Madigan. Mom on a mission ... to take away our rights ... it's for the children.:scrutiny:
I did not vote for her, and I do vote.
My brother has a GI, which is similar but even less frilly than the MilSpec. I would say get the MilSpec because my brother ended up changing out the sights (very difficult to use) and lowering the ejection port. He shoots IDPA so he also modded the gun a little bit by changing the MSH...
I have a 22/45 Mark III and to me the field strip is way overblown. Took me 5 minutes the first time but I did watch a video of others doing it first.
I'll let you know about the detail strip as soon as I get a Mark II bushing to fix the magazine disconnect.
Not everyone from IL is so brainwashed, but be careful as to not spook the sheep by speaking and/or acting out. I also work for RR Donnelley and couldn't agree more about the boring part (I could go on). We hang no gun signs on the entrance doors and the sheeple feel safer.
My SA Loaded in stainless was under 7 bills, has a lot of nice features, and is 100% reliable. Great that you love your Taurus, but be careful how you state it.
I've always wanted one of these but have been afraid of purchasing a $250 paperweight. I may pick one up based on this thread. Time to go shopping and see what they're going for these days.
Finally picked up a Ruger 22/45 5.5" BB (Mark III) in stainless.
Went to the range and shot about 250 rounds of various CCI products and was happy with results. I had one jam because the magazine wasn't fully seated which will hopefully loosen up after some more shooting as it's really tight...
2 100rnd boxes of WWB 9mm (~$19 ea)
2 100rnd boxes of WWB 45 (~$27 ea)
5 100rnd boxes of CCI 22 LR (~$6 ea)
Total was just shy of $140 with tax from the local Wally World.
Not mine. The sales guy was nice enough to retrieve a box in order to make carrying all the 45 ACP/9MM/ and 22 CCI boxes easier. This was just last week. Could have bought more had I brung more money! :)
Funny story, but I was at the range and some kid wanted to try my 1911 and in return he lent me his CZ. He showed me his (rather large) grouping from his last target. I spun out a target and shot his CZ. The target came back with a quarter sized hole. I just replied "Nothing wrong with this...
