    Browning BLR?

I've owned two BLRs - an early steel receiver .243 and my current lw .358 WCF. The newer trigger is much better than my old one. I think a lot of people that complain of the trigger are not accustomed to the long hammer fall on a lever gun. The .358 does kick a little (about like a .30-06...

    Leupold FX2 3x20

Has anyone used this scope. There were a couple articles about it coming out of the Leupold Custom shop a year or so ago. It is non-cataloged but I found one and ordered it. Years ago my favorite scope on a couple rifles was the M8 3x. This one is a little different but I'm anxious to try it...

What is the classic/standard 308 bolt action?

To me "Classic" has to do more with the stock style and looks than does the make. The Rem 700 Classic and the older Mdl 70s certainly fit that bill. I've owned them all but my favorite and most used for Deer and Elk is a new production Ruger Compact Magnum in .308 Win. It just fits me better...

    375 h&h vs 444 marlin

Never hunted Moose but in my younger days I did lot's of Black Timber Elk hunting and took quite a few. I used both those cartridges, as well as several lessor ones. My all time favorite was a real lightweight .358 Win Savage 99, but close behind that was a .375 H&H. It was in a classic...

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

I've owned lots over the last few decades but this .45 ACP is my favorite now. I like it so much I have two. A blued one for during the week and this for "Sunday, go to meetin."

    Who carries a .44 Special?

I have owned a 296, 696 & NG 396 over the years. I really like the .44 Special cartridge. I no longer handload as my bucket list is too large to allow the time for it. So, the price and availability of ammo caused me to move away from that caliber for concealed carry. I like to shoot my...

H&K USP 45: How good is it?

I've always been a SIG fan and converted from DA/SA sometime back to DAK guns. I shoot them just as well or better than the DA/SA. Some don't like them but I do. I like the consistent trigger pull. However, it took an HK45c and HK P2000sk to make me stop carrying the SIG P220 and P229 9mm...

Pocket pistol! Reliabilty is my first choice!!

I've owned the PM9 and found it to be very reliable and accurate. Having said that there was nothing about it that caused me to want to keep it. I don't care for pocket carry but do so fairly frequently. The PM9 was a little large for that but so is my choice. I do carry in a Kangaroo Carry...

    642 Club Part Three

Kept coming back and looking at those Heritage grips. Couldn't stand it any longer so I ordered a set for my 442 yesterday. My 640-1 has Spegels.

Anyone own a Beretta Nano ???

That's odd, Kahr believed it. I really liked the PM9s and K9s (enough to try again on each) but the one's I had were not trouble free. I do have a friend that has a PM9 that has not malfunctioned in his first 700 or so rounds. I'm happy for him. The P380 reliability was so bad it made owning...

Anyone own a Beretta Nano ???

To me, the issue of not having a slide lock, is a non-issue. I have a Beretta BU9 and thought that was a little unusual when I picked it up. After three range sessions I actually prefer the cleaner line of the pistol. There has been talk of "underpowered" ammo causing FTEs. There have been...

    Pocket 9mm for a lefty ???

The Uncle Mike's/Blackhawk # 4 works perfectly. The BU9 (I'm too old to talk about my N...) is selling fast at Cabelas, Gander Mountain and Academy Sports (where I got mine). But here is my preferred way to carry it.

    Pocket 9mm for a lefty ???

When I had a PM9 I found it a little large for pocket carry. My Beretta BU9 is about the same. They work with some pants and not others. But...I found the same with my J frame so the CM9 or Beretta might work for you. The BU9 does not have a slide release and the mag release button is...

How Many Carry a 1911 with FMJ Ammo?

I carried a 1911 for 20 years because I had to. I then carried a SIG because I had to. I now carry a SIG with Ranger T because I want to. If....I had to carry a 1911, it would be with ball.

How Many Carry a 1911 with FMJ Ammo?

    I carried a 1911 for 20 years. If I carried a 1911 today I would use 230gr ball. That's one reason why I carry a SIG P220 with Ranger T.

    .357 Sig Caliber

I have a P239 DAK in .357 SIG for carry and shoot it frequently with carry loads but I have an identical P239 in 9mm and shoot it lots. Even tho' .45 ACP is my preferred caliber, the .357 SIG is a great one for a smaller gun.

    .243 Bullet selection for deer

Huh? try .308 Win. I've used the .243 for decades and never had any problem with any size deer, including monster Muleys. I prefer 100gr Hornady or Rem factory ammo although I used to do considerable reloading for this caliber. I also shoot/shot many other calibers but .243 is a favorite...

Sig Sauer quality is way down

All I can speak of is my experience with SIGs and that is only with the classic P series as I have no desire to own any of the others. I have 5 SIGs...a German P220; a SAS P220 DAK with internal extractor; a 2010 production P220 Compact SAS2; a 2011 production P220 (no rail, no tail); and a...
