    Why bevel guide rod

Thank you for the replies. I have a Para CCW and I noticed peening/witness marks in the same place where the recommended bevel would be. The movable link is not contacting, the back end of the guide rod is impacting the barrel/link lugs that the link mounts to. Is this normal? My para came...

Chip Mccormick mag does not fit para CCW

I have not tried any other brands. I have seen older model Para CCW's with aftermarket 7 round magazines that fit flush and a Para Companion (same frame size) with Chip McCormick mags that work. I called Chip McCormick industries and they did not have an answer. They suggested that I send it...

    Why bevel guide rod

I was reading Sweeney's gunsmithing book and he shows a caption of the back end of a full length guide rod with a bevel on it. It states to do this to yours if it is not already. Does this help with wear, lockup, dissasembly or something else?

    HK USP .40...Anybody own one?

I have a USP compact in 40 S&W. It does seem to have a fair amount of muzzle flip. I have fired the USP full size and I felt like it had an extremely controllable and low amount of flip. The full size has a dual coil spring and the compact only has one spring with a small plastic recoil...

Check out http://www.brassfetcher.com/Various%20.38%20Special%20JHPs.html My best guess is that the bullet in the front left side of the block is the Federal 110 PD. It looks like it expanded some, flipped around, and after possibly hitting the side of the box, came to rest at 12" depth. It...

I recently purchased a Rossi 88 stainless 38 special revolver. The factory literature states "non +p" only. Which started my research. The tests on www.brassfetcher.com are very interesting. Especially the Buffalo bore loads, but I decided to search for a more easily/localy obtainable...
