I have been shooting cas a long time. The clubs that I shoot have some incredible shooters scary fast great competitors and really nice guys. Some love to dress the part like me some bare minimum dress. Find a club shoot to have fun compete against yourself you will be your toughest competition...
Why not 32-20. An original caliber cheap to reload fun to shoot. The most important thing with CAS is to have fun. Dressing up looking good is part of the fun.
I get a gun from my wife for Christmas almost every year. I would usually give a list and she would pick one from the list. One year she said she did not need a list. Long story short she bought me a Pedersoli Quigley rifle in 45/70 total surprise. I think I have the best wife I the world she is...
Try surplus military competion. They use Mauser,Moisin's Springfields. That type of rifle lot of clubs are shooting them. Look up local clubs and check their calender or events page. Gus http://scsclub.org/events/gsm-match/ I posted a link to club in my area it will give you some ideas...
I have been to a three gun match where they gave you a maximum time of 140 seconds for the stage. Time was up you were done. I ran out of time almost every stage. I am slow!. I was not telling you had to go buy anything just what you need. If you want to compete with a bolt rifle buy a military...
Your two gun match would be an AR type or AK type rifle. With a pistol a 9 mm type pistol. You'll need 200 rounds of each type of ammo for each match you attend a good holster with a least extra mags for the pistol and 2 extra for the rifle. You can use a pump for skeet most clubs if you are new...
Do not buy a pump it wll frustrate you as a beginner. A S-A or OU will be best. Make sure the gun fits easy to do in the store. Mount the gun several times so you get use to it. Then close your eyes and mount the gun now open if the two beads look like a figure eight you now have a gun that is...

Fobus
I had a Fobus for my CZ and could not draw the gun with two hands. It was almost impossible to get that gun out. Bought a Comp tac on the net great holster!. Gus
Well this was great here I thought I could buy a new gun and you guys suggest two guns I already have the Marlin 39A and the taurus pump in a carbine. So now I guess I have to look at pistols. What do you gents think of as an inexpensive camp/pack pistol in 22. I am leaning toward the browning...
Looking for a pack rifle anyone out there have any expirence with the Henry survival rifle or the the Marlin papose. Grandsonand I are going on a canoe trip in BWCWA thougt it would a good excuse to buy a new packable rifle. Opinions on accuracy and reliability would be greatly appreciated. Gus
Justsaymo thanks for running the match it was fun. Depending on when who ever gets the next on going I do not know if I will be able to participate I am heading to Detroit to do a shutdown starting 3-3 will not have time when that starts. But hope to do the one after that. I noticied I had...
My thoughts revolver at 25' "cowboy style" = 1 handed rifle 25 yds off hand that would be one set for score.
Revolver 25' two hands still no rest and rifle 25 yds off the bench all at 3x5 cards with some kind of aiming point or not that could be a second round each for score then combine the...
Try eagle grips they have several selections that are really nice. I have several pair and they are comfy and fit my large hands well. I also have ahrends and those are nice too. Gus
