I use and have used for over thirty years lyman and saeco ingot molds. They work fine and they don't wear out. The cost of these molds is not that much and it really doesn't make sense to be so cheap as to use cheap muffin pans that won't last. Cast iron muffin pans are an other story and...
According to a rep from Hodgdon, 231 and HP38 are the same powder. He said that they have always been the same powder. He said that out of a batch of powder, 1/3 would go to the factory for making Winchester ammo, 1/3 would be labeled Hp38 and that 1/3 would be labeled Winchester 231. You...
Downtown Bessemer is not a bad area per se. Simmon's has recently been remodeled and expanded. They have a good inventory of guns, reloading supplies and fishing equipment. The prices are generally good. I go there about once a month. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. It is...
Flitz is good, but it is expensive. Dillon is good, but it is expensive. Nu Finish is just as good and it is not expensive. Add a little mineral spirits to New Finish and it will beat Flitz.( and still cheaper)
I have a set of RCBS 38 S&W dies, They work fine, no problems. You can resize 38 S&W cases with a 38 Super resizing die or I have used a 9mm resizing die with good results. If I remember right, you can use a 9mm taper crimp die to crimp 38 S&W cases. I used to reload a lot of 38 S&W...
I got my Mom a three inch barreled chief special (model 36) She would have had trouble pulling ther slide back on a lot of pistols. I got my wife a tip up barrel Berretta, so that she didn't have to pull the slide back. Of course, you could load an automatic and let her keep it with one in...
Midway used to sell a tool that would remove pierced primers..I have one. The methods described on this thread will work fine....you have to pry them out. If you want to see a picture of the tool, drop me a PM.
EGW in Pa. sells a Lee U (under sized) die. That will fix your problem.(Evolution Gun Works) If you use the U die and a Lee factory crimp die, you will not have any problems.
Been there, tried that...it works.
Empty cat liter containers ( pails or buckets) make excellent brass storage containers ( look at EddieNFL's post) If you use the containers with the lid on, you can stack the them up to save space. I use a marks-a-lot to lable the containers (pails).
