Where are the HBWC ??

Got a bee in my bonnet to buy some classic lead HBWC for the 38 Spcl, but other than Hornady, Precision Delta, and Berry plated I can't seem to locate any. I was thinking that MBC made them at one time, but they are not in the current catalog.

Have the 148/158 hollow base fallen that far out of favor ??

My LGS has some. What I can't find is 40 Cal LSWC.

.38 Special 148 gr HBWC - Hornady, Remington, Speer and others are still making them. They can't have fallen very far out of favor.

Speer - $38 per 500 plus shipping. When I ordered 6 boxes, shipping was only $6.50

Recently bought some Speer .357 148gr HBWC, $39+tax/500 from LGS, Houston.

As far as I know, MBC and similar companies only make cast lead bullets such as DEWC. The HBWC bullets are swaged, not cast, and typically are made by the majors like Speer and Hornady. As you can see from above posts they are available.

Speer HBWC bullets shot accurately for me, as did the ORIGINAL Hornady HBWC, which was only produced for a relatively short time; the current Hornady's with the knurled OD, not so much.

I just bought a 250 round box of Hornady 148 gr. HBWC, knurled OD 2 days ago. They're still making them, $36.00.
