    Phosphoric Acid to clean cases

Hiya For that brass that has some of that 'brown death' all over them, bad stains, or really tarnished I use some Limeaway toilet bowl cleaner. The active ingredient in Limeaway is Phosphoric acid. On these rough specimens I just saturate a rag with some Limeaway and wipe down. The bad...

Viht. N110 in .357 Mag: primer choice

Hi I sent V-V an email about the 'sm rifle primer' deal and the rep was quite surprised about this. He said it should have definately been a small pistol primer. He also said that using a mag primer was not necessary or recommended. I've been doing a little cross comparison and examining...

    Prvi Partizan 7x57 brass?

Well actually, this stuff is pretty good.. I have a 7x57 Ackley and was looking for Winchester brass, of coarse it's tough to find, so I tried some of this Privi brass. Ok, so they didn't polish out the annealing.. I can live with that.. but what I noticed as I was priming the brass, is...

    Lee Classic Turret assembly

Hi.. Thanks for the replies Yes, that is the spring in the pic.. and yes the turret snaps into position normally as far as I can tell. So, since I'm not using the chain, the CT doesn't need it.. Then it's just a spare part for now, yes? Yes the press came assembled, except for the arm.

    Lee Classic Turret assembly

Heya I took a leap of faith and bought a Lee CT with the pro powder measure and Safety Prime Feed. Having a hard time figuring out just what will make the Safety Prime Feed work correctly, but from all I've read, I just have to fiddle with it for a while. Everything else about the press is...

    Duplicating .38Special factory loads

Hello Thought you guys might find this interesting.. I originally posted this over at the S&W Reloading Forum. Last year I did a small expose on .38 Special 158gr Lead RN factory loads, dealing with what it would take, in charge weight, to duplicate the Remington UMC 158gr Lead RN factory...

My new .357 mag load with 2400.

Had a chance to shoot my new Taurus 608 between rain stroms for about an hour, and it's lookin pretty good so far. Brought an old standby load( 14.9grs 2400-158gr Sierra JHP, along with some other stuff, and the 2400 load shot the best.:) 25 yards.

Shot my new Taurus 608 today

Yesterday I picked up my new 608 .357 Mag.. What a beast.. Checked the cylinder/barrel gap with feeler gages and it was .006" Today between rain showers I managed to get some time in to shoot it. Right out of the box it is right on the money at 25 yards. I don't have my chronograph at the...

    38/357

Hi A factory .38 Special +P load with a 158gr lead bullet is only coming out of a 4" barrel at 900 fps or thereabouts and they use a swaged lead bullet. That bullet you are using will be just fine.

Any Taurus Mod 608 owners out there?

Hello I've been wanting to get another 6-6½" .357Mag revolver for a while and was contemplating a Ruger GP100 when I saw this Taurus 6½" 608 8-shot at my local Sportsman's Warehouse. I gotta say, it's a sexy lookin thing.. Looks like it wants to be taken out and shot! But.. I've been...

    Help Reading Pressure Signs (Rifle)

MEHavey I agree.. I was just playing devil's advocate with you, hope you didn't mind. Only because this particular rifle, and/or cartridge, don't know which, has been a tough nut to crack with respect to understanding where the 'wall' is.. especially with some of the newer powders out now...

    Help Reading Pressure Signs (Rifle)

Hmm.. Ok lets yak about this.. I have a chronograph, an Oehler Mod 33. I've had it since 1980. When I worked up this load, 180 Nos Par ahead of 72.0grs IMR4831, I shot 3-shot strings in 0.5grn increments. The velocity, ES(spread) and Sd Standard Deviation remained pretty uniform all the...

    Help Reading Pressure Signs (Rifle)

Hey I do hear what you're sayin.. Lyman #49 lists 69.0grs, Speer# 13 lists 70.0, and an official IMR Handloader's Guide lists 73.0grs as max. Now IMR are the ones makin the dang powder and THEY say 73.0grs at 53500 CUP. Didn't IMR use a crusher to obtain the data? The rest of their data...
