Just to throw out more ideas....
-walther PPS. Single stack, so it's nice to wear IWB. I'd probably say the trigger is more "glock-like" but it's not bad at all. The mag release is actually part of the bottom of the trigger guard so that can be a deal breaker for some.
-Kahr CW9...
No gunsmithing experience here but I swapped out my trigger for a Geissele 2-stage (non-adjustable) and had no trouble at all. Only issue I could see is if the receiver, safety, or some other part was out of spec and required further modifications.
In the CCW course I took we went over some basic grips and retention skills 1 on 1 with the instructor and I guess there might be the OCCASIONAL need to test a skill using a real, unloaded firearm.....? but for most purposes I think a dummy gun should be used and that's what we used in class...
If it's mainly for use as BUG and you don't want to spend a whole lot then go with the Kel Tec.
If you still don't want to spend a whole lot, but want to move up to a decent 9mm that's a decent shooter and don't mind that it's not really a "pocket gun" you may want to look at the Kahr CW9. I...
Didn't even say how or what they stabbed him with?? So they THREW the gun out and THEN grabbed a knife?
Also, how many times before people learn to keep their doors locked? Only time mine are unlocked is when I'm opening them, and then they're locked back no matter what time it is...
Similar to the P9, I just got a CW9 and am currently breaking it in, 100 rounds so far with no failures of any kind.
I was looking for single stack 9mm as well and though I didn't get to play with a 908, the Kahr just felt really nice in my hand. Glock 26 and Springfield XD9 sub-compact...
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but do not give aspirin or similar painkillers, can prevent proper clotting.
Beyond that I'd highly recommend a First Aid & CPR course. Really something most people should do as you may come across situations where you'd need to use CPR more often than a...
Even as a medical student I take any article (whether randomized double-blind placebo-controlled or just a literature review) with the proverbial grain of salt and have to critically look at the methods, motives, etc.... so you can put it in the proper context.
I haven't looked at this...
I agree, great job! Glad it all worked out and no one was hurt! Not sure I would have been able to handle that as well @ 21.
I do agree that it could be a good chance for you and your father to work on some scenarios together so, God forbid, something like this every happened again you...
Right now medical school (and associated tuition) has my consumed life, so that's the #1 "hobby". Though I was excited the other day to finally get the medical gear I spent nearly $900 on.....
Also into computers and technology in general...yes, I'm a gadget guy. So the usual homebuilt...
I also would.
Have played drums for good part of my life (rock bands, marching/drumlines, etc...) and probably wasn't as good as I should have been in wearing ear protection, so I'll probably pay for some of that later on in life.
Alright, have been doing some reading and think I've come to a correct conclusion but wanted to make sure my logic is right.
I'm a FL resident and am waiting on my concealed permit which should be arriving in the next week or so. During the Christmas break the wife and I are taking a...
Just skimmed through so not sure if this has been said, but in some cases you may be able to get the phone company/sub-contractor to install the demarc box inside your house where it'd be secure. Then just make sure you protect the wire outside the house where it comes out of the ground and...
Yea, the brain is a strange, fascinating thing. Won't just be a psychological effect (though I'm sure he'll be having lots of therapy), but he obviously damaged connections between various neurons and depending on what parts of the brain can lead to any number of outcomes.
The classic...
