I'm assuming feeding problems? Several things can cause them, anytime you get away from the 45 acp in a 1911 the more perfect the pistol has to be.
Your mag catch may be worn allowing the magazine to sit too low. Shooting from a bench push the pistol down on the bench as you fire it causing the...
They will work, the pad sticks out a little further but that just makes it easier to seat. My SIL has an Buckmark about the same age as yours and my new mags work just fine in his gun.
Some brands of 1911's have what I call "blocky" front straps, older Springfields where particulary bad. Any smith who can do a good job checkering a front strap can re-contour it too with or without the checkering.
No need for class 3 it's legal for any 01 gunsmith can do the work, providing of course that they have experience on your weapon. No need to stay with the gun either.
I agree that the 5.7 spitfire is the best conversion for a M1 carbine. If you are just wanting to go with a .355 pistol round have you thought about the 9x23? More capacity than the 9 luger and the tapered rimless case would make things easier.
I doubt that Wilson stakes their bushings but you can check, look at the backside of the bushing if it is staked you will see 3 or 4 points where it is staked. There is a tool for removing the staked portion I think Brownells has it. Don't try to unscrew staked in bushing because you will...
With something hard like that set up is very important. It would be much better to drill it set up in a solid vice on a milling machine. Vibrations dull drill bits quickly and is death to solid carbide tools. Sometimes I've used a carbide end mill instead of a drill bit but like I said you have...
IIRC the earlier Norinco's had large letters on the slide, I've heard that if any these would be the ones that might have some collector value some day, maybe in a few hundred years.
It's been my experience that with the lower priced guns the small parts usually suffer the most. So if the...
This is kind of a hell i was there for me. The reason Wilson and a few others added the Norinco to the list of pistols they would build on is simple. Colts were hard to get and were getting more expensive at the time, and they had problems with over beveled slide locking lugs which made it...
If you are the kind of person who forgets to hit the brake pedal when something pulls out in front of you...well you probably shouldn't have a safety on your gun.
If you're the kind of person who forgets to answer the phone when it rings...well you probably shouldn't have a safety on your gun...
Hard chrome is a great finish for handguns. It is harder than the metal underneath, is more rust resistant than blue, holster wear will just polish it won't remove the finish. The hard chromed parts will not wear nearly as quickly as unplated. Having said all that I'm not a big fan of hard...
Hornaday 115 grain XTP factory ammo is very accurate but very expensive. Atlanta Arms and Ammo should have something that would work well. HP's tend to shoot better in the 9x19.
No problem Mg I didn't take you as cranky. I can't help from thinking about firearms as something you might need in an emergency, especially service pistols.
The thing about hand size is that big hands don't always mean big grips. My son's hands are about the same size as mine but he has...
Hard to have fun shooting something that won't fit, the fun part is hitting the target which is made much more difficult with a handgun you can't grip correctly. It can be the start of bad habits and might turn someone away from shooting at all.
The 92 Beretta needs the grip to operate, not...
I have to disagree that anyone can grip a 92 properly, the trigger reach is long and the grip is big. I have had many females and small handed men that could not reach the trigger without compromising the grip. You are wasting your time if she has to use a compromised grip to fire the first...
