I love to visit PA, and have an easily obtainable non-resident carry license as well. Breath of fresh air compared to NY/NJ. My son goes to UPENN but lives in Ardmore. Phili has it's good and bad parts like anywhere else, but the suburbs are very beautiful. Love the state, wish I could move there.
Amazingly here in anti-gun New York we are not required to notify the LEO we are armed. And I would not unless you are asked to get out of the vehicle.
The less said the better IMO and don't offer any additional small talk to try to be the cops "friend". It can only backfire. Short to the...
Same situation here.
Said my IP address was banned, although I have never had any contact whatsoever with GlockTalk. Then after using another IP address I was able to register, but still months later can not post as apparently the application has never been "approved". Laughable.
Bless Pennsylvania and it's common sense gun laws and strong pro RKBA stand. We here in New York can only look on with envy. It's amazing that the state's of PA and NJ can be right next to each other, and so amazingly opposite.
This is why the course to get a Utah non-res is quite popular here in New York. The Utah license gets you Las Vegas. I took it in February and haven't received it, but check was cashed 6 weeks ago.
Winchester 73, are you sure about MA? I was under the impression you can not even have a handgun in your trunk, locked with no ammo. I read they are the most restrictive state in the country to travel through.
Suffolk Country licenses are full carry but have "restrictions" to going to and coming from the "range". The wording in the handbook is vague about just exactly what that means, and what time limit is involved. If I go to the range at 9:00am, leave and stop at a friends house and then go to...
"Here in Suffolk County we have a "Target & Hunting" permit. You can carry to & from the range but unloaded. I got my permit in the city before moving to Suffolk 18 yrs. ago & had no problem getting it. Don't get me wrong they do suck in NYC & will never go back, & now with Spitzser(?) & Cuomo...
Guess it depends on what your standard of "clean" is.
I've found the Boresnakes get about 75% of the crud out, but if your a stickler you have to finish it off traditionally.
I live in Suffolk County as well, and seem to be going "to and from" the range a lot..;)
Has me wondering if there are any known cases in Suffolk of someone with a "sportsman" restricted license actually having it pulled because they got spotted carrying. NOT flashing or brandishing but just...
I would imagine that the actual cutting into the topstrap would never get to the point of making the revolver unsafe to shoot. It would have to stop at some point or we would have heard of this type of failure. I never have.
I have the same Model 19, blued with 4" barrel.
It is pinned and recessed as well, serial number starts 4K283XX.
I have always wondered what year it was made, I bought it used.
It is without question the smoothest double action shooting revolver I have ever shot. Got a few nicks in the blue...
