Inexpensive Glock 34 holster for IPSC?

I'm going to try out IPSC shooting with my new Glock 34 and I'm looking for an inexpensive holster to use. IPSC looks fun, but I'm not sure how much I'm going to do it, so I don't want to spend a lot on a holster (until I know more). Can you recommend a good, inexpensive holster for a Glock...

    Where to buy ammo?

My experience is that shipping charges eliminate any savings you get on the purchase price. I now buy all of my ammunition at gun shows and transport it myself. Examples: Case of Remington golden bullet .22 ammo, 12 boxes of 525 rounds: $99. 1000 rds of American Eagle (Federal?) 38 special...

    Who does Python action jobs?

This link is not correct (at least on my computer). It brings up a website for the Steelhead company. The problem seems to be the period after the ".com". http://www.actionsbyt.com should get you to the right place. J.

    first wallpaper attempt

Excellent quality, very good lighting, good composition. The only nit I see (and this just may be my own personal preference) is I would move the base of the knife handle down slightly so that it didn't overlap the end of the revolver barrel. FWIW, IMHO, etc., etc. :-) J.

How difficult is it to get a Cali handgun permit?

I stand corrected. I didn't know it was easier in other parts of the state.

How difficult is it to get a Cali handgun permit?

CCW in California is exceedingly difficult. Most "ordinary" people can't qualify.

How difficult is it to get a Cali handgun permit?

You shouldn't need an HSC (Handgun Safety Certificate) to rent guns at your local range. Or at least, my local range doesn't require it. If you want to purchase a handgun, you'll need an HSC. It costs $25 at your local FFL and consists of 30 multiple choice and true/false questions. Most...

Finally took possession of my Ruger MkII

Don't worry about the field strip. I bought a KMK678GC (the slab side target model) about 4 months ago. Dissassembly is SIMPLE!. I use a paper clip to hook the "pointy thing" (don't be put off, it's a technical term...) on the back of the handle. That's the only tricky part for...

    Best handgunning magazine?

That's magazine as in periodical, not as in what you load bullets into. Anybody have excellent experience with one they would recommend? J.

How to learn about different handguns?

So if I wanted to take a step up in a target pistol, should I get a .38 special revolver, or should I get a .357 revolver and shoot .38 special ammo through it for better economy? Are there any .357 revolvers that excel at firing both calibers?

How to learn about different handguns?

There’s a lot I don’t know about handguns. I’ve been shooting only about 5 months. (Mostly .22: I bought a Ruger Mk II). I’m looking for a website or book that provides good, basic information about different handguns. My questions are along the lines of: What’s the difference...

Where to buy Remington .22 golden bullets?

Newbie question follows... Can I buy Remington .22LR golden bullets on the internet and have them shipped to me in California? If so, where's the best place (i.e., cheap and reliable company) to do so? My local shop charges $10.99 for 525 rd. box. I've used 4 boxes in the last 7 weeks...

Field stripping: ruger KMK512 same as KMK678GC?

With some trepidation, I decided to field strip and clean the gun last night. I had the user's manual and the field strip instructions previously mentioned with me. So I used a paper clip to pull the pointed latch out and swing the whatsit out of the handle. Hmmm, now what? Oh, I see, pull...

Field stripping: ruger KMK512 same as KMK678GC?

(Newbie question follows...) I just bought a Ruger KMK678GC (and haven't cleaned it yet). Anyone know if field stripping the KMK512 (as shown here: http://1bad69.com/ruger/field_strip.htm) is the same as for the KMK678GC? If not, what are the differences? Thanks.

    small caliber stopping results

(Forgive my newbie-ness...) Ok, you've got a .22 in a self defense situation with a 10 round magazine. You know a .22 doesn't have much "stopping" power. So you decide 10 rounds are better than 1, and keep on firing until the gun is empty. (Or maybe you shoot 8, keeping 2 in reserve.)...

    Old Ruger 22 problem

I'm very new at this so take this with a grain of salt... I heard that on Ruger MkII, the slide stays open when it's empty. On the Mk I, it's closed. J.

What advice for a new shooter?

I'm a new shooter. I took the NRA handgun safety class a month ago. Since then, I've been to the range 6 or 7 times shooting primarily .22's, though I have shot larger calibers (9mm, .45, .38, etc.). I enjoy shooting! My interest currently is target shooting, not self defence or tactical...
