I've fired 1000s of hot reloads through my 686+ from 125 to 158 grn bullets using Winchester 296 and Alliant 2400 powders. It still looks and functions as if brand new.
Jermz! .. I bought a new CW9 yesterday and took it to the range for a workout. I shot a hundred rounds of Blazer aluminum through it with no problems .. no FTF FTE .. nothing.
The feel of the grip is what sold me on the gun too ...
I like old guns, new guns .. just about all guns, but the only tactical thing I've done lately is to position the bag of Cheez Twisties next to the TV remotes without knocking over my can of Orange Crush ..
"Evan and family are fine, they have some family issues, good ones, right now and are trying to upgrade the board at the same time. "
Glad to hear he's ok and look forward to reading his site again .. thanks for the info armoredman ..
I have both the 620 and the 686+ with a 4" barrel. Internally, they appear to have the same parts and operate the same. I have fired thousands of hot handloads through both of them and have experienced no problems with either of them and the action keeps getting smoother each trip to the range...
Brad,
I'll try to transfer as much of that 22 tons of lead to the dirt bank at the local shooting range as I can .. I think I've contributed a couple hundred pounds so far this year ...
Keep 'em coming
I read about 6 different forums every day so I don't like to take the time to type because I'm such a slow typist .. I'd rather just read and learn something.
