    OAL for Berry bullet

Thanks all. I loaded some up using Steve C's reply as a guide. All the rounds chambered and cycled ok. FWIW they measured out at 1.225 oal with 5.4g of WIN 231. These were loaded up to only around 775 fps using A Midway load map book as a guide but not chrono'd. From what I've read about the...

    OAL for Berry bullet

I want to put together a plinking load for a 220 SIG. Bullet is a plated Berry 200g swc using either Win 231 or AA#5. My issue is what OAL to use as I've seen loads with lengths from 1.20 out to 1.275 with a 200g swc but not the Berry specifically. thanks, Steve

    Pierced primers LWD barrel

The firing pin tunnel is clean,no bits of brass. The firing pin is the newer double slot design, but the tip appears more flat than rounded off . I will change out the firing pin spring. I should probablly change out the firing pin too if its supposed to be more rounded. Tried to get a close up...

    Pierced primers LWD barrel

Just to clarify, the ammo was all Remmington 115g fmj, but most likely different lots as they were bought at two different stores and probabably 6 or more months apart. i had also looked at the firing pin and it appears ok,no burrs or edges that dont belong. I did jump the gun and return the...

    Pierced primers LWD barrel

Gun is a 1st gen Glock 17. I am getting pierced primers with a Lone Wolf barrel I recently acquired, I do not get them with the factory Glock barrel. Around 12 out of a box of Rem. 115g were pierced. Also the primer strikes appear deeper on the rounds fired in the LW barrel (of the ones that...

Can anyone identify this for me.

I had a thought about a blank after I posted, but the composition of what was in the cartridge seems like it could have been a projectile, kind of the opposite of my idea of a blank. Thanks

Can anyone identify this for me.

Going thru some brass a neighbor gave me I found an odd round. The brass has U.S.C.Co. 38S&W stamped on it. The primer also has US stamped on it. It didn't have powder but something hard of the consistancy of charcoal and on top of that on the top 1/16" a whiteish sealer of some kind that was...

    starting charge-357 mag

To answer the a question from previous posts, I did check my scale against another and with the check weights, scale weight matched check weights, both scales the same. The other quest. was on the gun, not new but only 2-300 rounds thru it. Back to the range today, had reloaded a couple rounds ...

    starting charge-357 mag

Jim H:Not sure if I can get a pic uploaded yet, but my primers look like the ones in your link flat but not cratered. All loads were trickled and weighed, the scale is a rcbs505, check weights were used to verify as close to final weight as possible. BTW, i'm only looking for target/plink...

    starting charge-357 mag

Thanks for the replys, sorry for leaving out info. The primers flattened out, looked kind of mushroom head like on top when popped out. I used std Win primers, set bullet to oal 1.575. I used starting chg of 10.8 of AA#5 and 8.5 of Win 231.(this is the powder I have on hand at this time). Barrel...
