Grandpa Shooter there is not chance I mixed up the pins. I only have one caliber conversion at this time. I ordered a .45acp conversion kit with the press. Inside were #1 pins, #2 shell plate, and a "D" powder funnel. I think the pins are okay. The shell plate and powder funnel are wrong...
I watched a video on Youtube. A guy was going for 6 grains on his Dillon measure. He threw it 10 times and weighed. He got 59.9. Seems accurate enough for me.
I was originally equipped with #1 locater buttons, a #2 shell plate, and a D powder/flaring attachment tube. I think the shell plate and powder funnel are for 38 special. I knew this before setting it up because I was playing around with the parts and I got out some brass. The brass would not...
What a wonderful machine. Have not had a chance to set it up with my daughter buzzing around. Question. The caliber conversion kit for .45 acp. The brass locater buttons have number 1 stamped on them. The shell plate has number 2 stamped on them. The powder flaring tool when placed up next...
I ordered a blue press yesterday. I'm sure I will have plenty of questions concerning set-up and operation. Thank you all. My thought process surrounding all of this is as follows. Dillon has the reputation. Hornady's (which I did give some very serious thought too) press is a first...
After much reading on many boards I have to get off the puck and make a decision. Dillon and the Lock and Load are the front runners. Many have said both press' are great each have its quirks.
Quirks:
LNL
1. Shell plate problem with 9mm.
2. 5th station clearance problems using other...
If I may? Where did you purchase yours? I have been looking for a LNL. Midway won't get any until 2-27-08. Midsouth won't have any until June. Have almost given up and cleared a space for something blue.
Thanks for the tip. I was going to do business with Precision Delta Bullets. They have great prices as well. I think they require a 2000 bullet order. I might have misunderstood their website. Both sites look really good. Thanks.
It depends upon the type of backstop they use. My range used to be no jackets of any kind. I have been personally hit by this stuff. No serious damage but I bled and it hurt like hell. My range now employs a more modern backstop and fmj's are now allowed.
Sorry. My intention was not to start a flame war over which press is best. I am sure both are fabulous. I have been thinking about the 650 lately because I can't seem to find anyone who has the Hornady in stock.
I have been reloading for many years on a single stage press. I want to move up. I don't intend to compete, or shoot thousands of rounds a month. I have turned over the thought of a turret press. The thought of 4000 pulls for 1000 rounds does not appeal to me. So, a progressive will be on...
I have been using a friends reloading equipment. I have decided to purchase my own setup. I have flirted with the idea of a progressive. The LNL is my first choice. Problem is I can't find anyone who has them? Internet or local store. Midsouth estimates June is when they will have them...
