A very interesting write-up about reloading for the 45 ACP

Thanks for the link Mike. Your timing could not have been better for me. After reading the article it was clear that I just needed to crimp my bullets a little bit more. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=775720 Thanks again Chuck

    45 acp reload issue

After reading the article about reloading 45acp that mikemyers linked to in another post (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=775769) it was clear that I had not over crimped. In fact I just needed to crimp them a little bit more and they worked flawlessly. They may have been slightly...

    45 acp reload issue

I am reloading on a Lee Classic Turret press with four stations. Seating the bullet on station tree then run it through the Lee factory crimp die on station four. So should I be crimping slightly on station three while seating the bullet? Then skip the factory crimp die?

    45 acp reload issue

That grove, more of a line, on the outside two rounds is where the case mouth was crimped to before the bullet moved. Hoping that I can run the remaining 200 rounds through the crimp die only. They are all winchester brass on second or third reload. Chuck

    45 acp reload issue

The attached picture shows two reloads that the bullet moved out while in the magazine when firing previous rounds. They were long enough that the slide did not go fully forward to lock up. Out of three mags this happened two times. Once on the second round of the mag, once on the third round of...

How effective is a strobelight exactly?

The strobe is much much more disorienting when it is pointed at you, than when you are holding pointing it away. I just recently got a Viridian C5L and the instructions say it is factory set to the best frequency for the strobe. It can be set up so that when you turn it on it comes on with...

Best semi auto for a lefty?

I am a lefty. The Walther PPQ is the first gun I have shot that feels like it was made for a lefty. Plus it is super accurate and has the best trigger pull ever. Check out the reviews on utube.

    Is it worth it economically?

My 9mm reloads are costing 14 cents each versus 26 cents from our local walmart. savings of 12 cents per round. Last year I bought a Lee Classic Turret press kit for $200 ( it is $240 right now at fsreloading.com). Add a set of dies some books and you can easily get started for $300. So after...

Reloads not loading in 9mm - setup help.

John_Q Are you measuring the diameter of the case mouth on your finished rounds? Are they at or less than .379" ? Do you have any factory rounds that you can try the marker rub test on? I know you are frustrated at this point. But once you get this figured out, you will have many...

    Bad feeling

jcwit, The batch method is how I always did it with my single stage rock chucker. But I was so anxious to use my brand new turret press I couldn't help it :) Chuck

    Bad feeling

I just went through the same thing with some .223 I loaded a couple weeks ago. I had a bunch (150) of cases that had been primed before I bought my Lee classic Turret press. So I was manually indexing back and forth between powder charge and bullet seating. About half way through I caught...

    Reloading Nickel cases?

Thanks Gearhead_1 I did a search today to see what was out there, some good info. I'm still glad I posted though because they didn't answer my question about reloading nickel cases. Is there any special procedure? The answer here, no, load like always but maybe stay away from max loads.

    Reloading Nickel cases?

Are there any differences between loading brass and loading nickel cases? My sons friend brought 100 new nickel cases as a gift for getting to shoot several times. At least I believe they are nickel, they are shiny silver. So, these are new cases in .243 caliber being loaded in my single...

Talk to me about Hi Points

Just saw the 9mm carbine at a gun show last week and wanted it. But not being an impulse buyer I decided to wait a few weeks till next gun show nearby, and get it then. Anxiously waiting. Related question, what does a compensator do?
