Gun You HAD To Get, Got, Then Lost Interest

I have one in 338 Fed, and that's true, but the gun is worth dropping $35 on a limbsaver.

    Tonight on O'Reilly

The most surprising thing to me about Whitlock's column was that Whitlock has a column.

What is your preferred inexpensive red dot, and why?

I've got somewhere around 350 rounds, maybe more, of high brass 12ga rounds (buck and slugs) thru a Mossberg 500 sitting under a TRS-25 that's still going strong. I have also never adjusted the zero since day one. I've got another TRS-25 on an AR with about 1500rds under that optic. IIRC...

    Buds guns... Twice bitten

That's very surprising. I have recently had a great experience with them. Bought a shotgun which had the incorrect capacity listed in the specs on the webpage. They had stated 5+1 but it was actually 4+1. I left a review of the gun, and in the review stated that they had it incorrect in the...

    Do you shoot 1000 yards?

I'm good to about 600, maybe a little past. I've shot at 1000, but not enough to really learn all the nuances that will make me consistent at that distance. Of course, I've only had access to the area where I'm shooting long distance for about 7 months now. I won't hunt past about 300 or so...

    Hogue AR-15 Question

Walkalong is correct, you need a new barrel. You can't just slide a gas block forward. Gas has to leave the barrel and enter the block thru a small port. The ports location in the barrel determines the length of the gas system. The buffer tube you are asking about is unrelated to the gas...

    Concealed Carry Overkill?

What are you talking about? Absolutely incorrect. Not even close. Oh yeah? If you think a Glock is a DA/SA trigger, you have never shot any Glock at all.

    J Frame Pain Management

There are plenty of closed backstrap concealment grips.

    J Frame Pain Management

I can't think of any way to have this statement makes sense. This. Put the gun in your hand in a shooting grip, then see where the movement is in your hand. That's where you need more grip. For me, that's in the web of my hand, so covered backstraps, preferably with some bulk to them, are...

Sig ACP...I just don't get it!

Keltec sub2000, exactly 4.0lbs. It wasn't ambiguous, it just didn't matter. Meh. Nothing else you've written is worth responding to again. Your repetition isn't helping you at all.

    338 federal

You don't have to guess, I said that. No kidding. That was my point. He's comparing similar weights, and lower velocities, and I'm stating the drastic increase in energy, showing the difference in the rounds. He's stating that the .338 doesn't do more because of the similar speed, I'm showing...

    338 federal

Well, according to my loading manuals, I've got loads that push 180gr over 2800fps in 338fed. I have loads that push 200grs over 2700. I've got loads for 160gr that are pushing over 2900fps! Maybe you need new manuals? Still don't see the difference? Once again, you still aren't...

My dislike of a FA has nothing to do with this.

    338 federal

It isn't all in the velocity. Although it will outdo 308 velocities by about 200fps in 180-200gr, not 50 as you stated. The energy of the .338fed is much higher than a 308win. It's higher than .358win. And significantly higher, too, 400-500ft lbs. We're talking 7mm mag equivalent, with less...

    338 federal

Sort of. To me, the "this vs that" becomes redundant and pointless in handguns, but the other attributes of rifle rounds, such as ballistic coefficient, sectional density, velocity and trajectory differences and the weight of the bullets, all play a much bigger role, and there is a lot of that...

From Brass Stacker: Mosin Cocking Knob Safety Pull Ring

Now try keeping your face on the stock while you run the bolt without giving yourself a nosebleed. I get it, and it would be nice to help put the bolt to safe, but I don't like them.

Stripper Clips - The Good and The Bad

These are what I use too. They have a tab to retain the rounds in them, and I can drop it in, run the rounds down, and have it chambered in easily half of the time it takes to load 5 rounds by hand.
