    Cowboy lever action gunsmith needed....

So I have a Winchester 357 lever action that is giving me some feeding issues. I normally do all of my own gunsmithing. But, for once I’m thinking this is a good excuse to get it fixed and slickened up all at once. Who is highly recommended for this? Thanks!

Smith & Wesson 44 Special Hand Ejector ???

Hello, Here is one other firearm I'm needing a little help with. This belongs to the same widow as the Krag rifle I posted. All of these guns haven't seen daylight since at least 1993. We found his firearm records book and he purchased this in the early 80's. I'm thinking it may have been...

    1894 US Springfield / Krag

Hey all, I'm trying to help a lady out by selling a few guns she was left by her late husband. He had a stroke in 1993 during a routine surgery and didn't pass away until last year. Most of the firearms are pretty simple to price, but I had some questions on this one. Now, I know it was...

    Seller's remorse.

Been there, done that too. I bought a super sweet almost unfired Browning A5 with a solid rib from an older gentleman years ago. I kept it for awhile but didn't appreciate it like I should have. There was a point on my life where I was more worried about vehicles so I sold it. Made a few bucks...

    M14 Questions/Opinions

Hey guys, I've been wanting to get a M14 for awhile. Any opinions on what I should stay away from? I found a guy that has two for sale. The highlights are posted below. Is $1250ea reasonable for them? 1) -Fulton armory receiver (nice) -22" SAI bbl (new) -USGI Bolt, Trigger...

Send a message by buying a gun on Memorial day?

I say buy a gun everyday. As far as the meaning of memorial day, its not the same for everyone. I guarantee you there is a difference between the way I think of it, and the way my grandfather does who watched friends/comrades perish in front of him. While our thoughts are the same in nature...

Does anyone have a new(32nd) Blue Book of Gun Values handy?

Hey All, I'm doing a little haggling on a shotgun. I think it is somewhat over-priced and we are trying to come to an agreement. Anyway, we were using my Blue Book of Gun Values for a reference as well as old auctions on GunBroker. He noticed my book was the 30th Edition and wants to get the...

    Walther PPK disassembly

Thanks for the reply Jon. I was pretty surprised by its condition. I would have expected it to be neglected but its in good shape. I'll post a couple pics next week in the appropriate place. The only thing difference I can remember is I believe it has a crown over the N proof on the barrel and...

Ballester Molina - what to do.....

They are neat guns, I would spend a little money on it and fix it up. Some people don't like them. I've actually been looking to buy one if you run across another for a good deal.

    Are Shotgun Heat Shields Usefull?

I like the look of them on the military "trench" style shotguns. The shields themselves weigh very little and don't make that much of a difference, but the bayonet lug is a different story. As far as their original purpose, I too have heard it was to stop from burning your hand when using the...

    BPS vs Ithaca 37.

I love my Ithaca 37's. I have pretty much ever variety you can imagine, from a 1940's 16ga to a 1980's riot gun. I've only had one BPS and it was a 10ga 3 1/2". It gave me some fits so I traded it to a gunsmith I knew. That being said, I would still buy another if I came across one I liked...

    Walther PPK disassembly

Thanks Jim, you made it sound easy enough. I really appreciate it. I'll post some pictures after I clean it. Is there somewhere easy to find the year it was made? I remember it was 211xxxK I'm at work but can get more info off it in the morning when I get home if needed.

    Walther PPK disassembly

Hello All, I just picked up PPK the other day. To be honest, I've never even handled one until now. I got the lead on an "old pistol" for sale. I went to see it not knowing what it would be. The lady brought it out and said her dad always called it a "Luger". I told her it wasn't that but...

Questions about a Winchester 1897 Trench.....need some info from a pro!

Hey all, I've been doing some searching for an original 1897 Winchester trench gun. Found a couple but not the "right" deal yet. Had some questions though. I pretty well understand all the markings and what not but wanted to ask a few questions. I found what was described as an WWI trench...

    Stock cleaning (without harming finish)

I've seen the lemon oil and even used some type of orange/citrus cleaner on antique furniture before, the only difference was it had a glossy finish. I'll have to stop by the hardware store today and look at the lemon/orange oils and wood soaps. Thanks for the ideas!

Does anyone have a good source for Trichloroethylene (TCE)???

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll have to do some checking. I think I have some acetone, if not it's easy to get at my local hardware store and alot cheaper then TCE by the gallon.

    Stock cleaning (without harming finish)

Hey all, I have a crazy question. I bought an old Ithaca 37 riot shotgun the other day. It's been sitting for some time and has a pretty good layer of dust on it, so I'm giving it a good cleaning. But, my main issue is with the stock. There is no easy was to put it, but the stock smells...
